I ordered the shirt as part of a Halloween costume. Solid fabric, good fit, but they really should tell you that they haven’t bothered to install the laces on each sleeve and down the chest. It took 45 minutes to figure out the lacing pattern and get them installed. No instructions on what pattern to use.

This is a great lace-up shirt for Halloween or other occasions necessitating a costume. It is of much better quality than I expected. I ordered the green version as part of a pirate costume in a size M for my husband. He is 5'7" tall and weighs about 165-170. The fit is just right. The shirt arrives without the laces for the front of the shirt or sleeves in place, and it can be bit time-consuming to lace everything properly the first time it will be worn. Once adjusted for the desired fit and knotted, the laces are sturdy and strong and stay in place. The sleeves are gathered for fullness at the upper arm and they fit generously enough that the laces only need to be slightly loosened to take the shirt off after wearing it. However, the front of the shirt is close-fitting and requires quite a bit more loosening. The fabric is thick and feels durable and the grommets for the laces are securely attached. The shirt is well made and is comfortable. I haven't washed it yet, but I plan to put it in a mesh bag and use cold water/gentle cycle and hang it up to dry. I anticipate it will need some ironing to look as nice as possible. The current price is $39.99 which seems reasonable.

I needed a new shirt for a pirate costume I was putting together and liked the style of this one. This comes without anything laced up and they give you three 10-foot laces. Unfortunately there were no instructions included but found that these should be laced starting from the bottom and working your way up - over and under through the holes to get that nice "X" pattern. The material is a thicker cotton and not soft, but feels durable yet comfortable. The fit was spot on for me. I had room through the chest area and arm length and shoulder width were perfect. I'm 5'10" with a barrel chest. This shirt could also be used for medieval or steampunk costumes. I found that if you don't want the laces to loosen in the middle of the shirt you can tighten and then make a knot on the underside. For mine I have the top five eyelets loosened to form a V with the cross over lacing. I also ended up cutting the length of the laces as they were too long. Overall, I liked the shirt and will probably use it for a steampunk look next time.

I’m not complaining about the fact that you have to lace it up yourself. When you buy things at a slightly lower price point for the same quality as a pricier version, sometimes you have to do a bit of extra work. Totally fine! Just make sure you lace it consistently so it looks good, making sure that your right and left arms match. And yes, there are several approaches to how to do that. I strongly suggest looking online.As for the design and fit, both are terrific! This is well-crafted and looks quite striking, dare I say, a bit sexy? See pics!
