Kudos to the author Nandita Shah for bringing out such a wonderful book. Thank You. After a month time of my first review of the book, I am now adding my 2nd part of review here. If at all I have to say anything about this book, I could only say that I concur with every single line in this book. So far I have completed reading only 65% of the book due to preoccupation. The book is very voluminous also. But even before completing the book, I could fairly guess what the author is trying to emphasize and I began implementing them in practice. I am able to see tremendous changes in me by those practices. I have been a diabetic for the last 15 years and I am on allopathic medication till now. For the last couple of years my fasting glucose is always hovering around 200+ and even many times touching 225 (with allopathic medicines). My HbA1C was an all time high of 9.6 for the recent 1 year or so even with all allopathic medications. My triglycerides was always above 350 for the last 10 years. My doctor was compelling me to switch over to Insulin regime and I was always resisting that and continued to take only oral medications of around 15 tablets a day for diabetes, blood pressure, triglycerides, ldl cholesterol etc . My allopathic doctor was telling me that my tablets are at the maximum and the next option is to switch over to Insulin injections only. But still I was always resisting to take Insulin injections. I was side by side trying all natural/ayurvedic/siddha medicines together with allopathic medicines and there was no progress at all in my blood glucose levels. I am a born vegetarian and I am a teetotaler. Still I was struggling with my health for the last 10 years. I am an Engineer by profession and I am in the late 50s. As you know Engineers always think in multiple angles to solve a problem, I started to explore solutions to control my diabetes. During the last 2 years I had spent tens of thousands of rupees and I was failing at every attempt to find solutions to bring my diabetes under control and I never lost hope. Fortunately I came across this book of Dr. Nandita Shah. Within 30 days of implementing her suggestions my fasting blood glucose levels have dropped from 200+ (with allopathic medications) to a stable reading of around 130 (with allopathic medications). This is a very drastic improvement in me which I could not achieve even after 2 years of continuous struggle to bring it down. Earlier I used to get up 3 to 4 times at night to pass urine at night and this has comedown to one time now. Earlier I was feeling always tired and felt sleepy many times in the day and wakeful at night. After following the authors advice now I am feeling very brisk throughout the day. I was earlier failing in my memory and I am sure I will improve upon it also sooner or later. I am fortunate that I have come across such a wonderful book written by Dr. Nandita Shah and I am short of words to thank her for the same. My only feeling is that I should have come across this book 10 years back. Still I am glad that my persistent attempts yielded fruits at least now. I am sure I will progress further and bring my blood glucose level under full control soon. This is the time, I must also thank desertcart Kindle for providing such a wonderful way to read books through their kindle book service. Kindle books come as a virtual book available anywhere to me free of weight to read. Earlier I was always preferring print version of books. Now I have switched over to kindle books for variety of reasons. After buying Kindle ebooks I am happy that I need not carry the printed books as luggage. I need not fear losing the books in transit. I can book mark and highlight the points. I can immediately search and find the words I want. I can comment and express my feelings for my future reference. We are also saving trees by going for kindle ebooks. This desertcart Kindle is really wonderful. Many of us are ready to go to hotel and spend 300 to 400 Rupees for eating. Why shouldn't we spend some such money to buy useful kindle ebooks also? I will definitely come out with my 3rd part of my experience of reading Nandita's books at a later date here. It is practically possible to bring down the Blood Sugar Level Viz HbA1c by adopting simple natural means. I have got my fasting Sugar down from 220 to a stable 140 by adopting such means. Still I take all Allopathic Medicines as of now. But I am not on Insulin Injection. Soon I wish to dump all these allopathic medicines and come back to normal diabetes free living. Our main objective should be, at first we have to set the Insulin resistance right. This is possible with proper diet itself. One more Important information : Pl. listen to The Two Big Lies of Type 2 Diabetes video by Jason Fung in Youtube. Right now I am reading Jason Fung's kindle edition 'The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended'. I am writing my 4th part of my experience to control and reverse diabetes here : I would say that we can definitely control our blood sugar levels. I am able to bring down my blood sugar level to a great extent by simple diet control. I take more fiber rich foods like uncooked/cooked sprouts (Morning Breakfast) and Cooked Vegetables (Afternoon Lunch and Night Dinner). I have totally reduced (from 100% to 10%) my rice, wheat, Oil and fried foods, Refined and Packed foods. I have stopped taking milk and milk products completely. Instead, I take Rooibos Tea, Chamomile Tea, Japanese Matcha Tea etc. I also take Green Coffee Extract capsules. Now-a-days I am feeling more energetic also. As Nandita Shah suggests eat what a monkey eats. Does a monkey eat rice, wheat, milk items, sweet, sugar, salt etc to live? I am also planning to go for alternate day fasting (Intermittent Fasting) soon. Review: I choose Fasting over veganism - Though the book is good, being completely vegan seems harsh to me.... As a Dr I chose fasting for my health and also applying this to my patients....

Eye opener book
I am really shocked to read this book. I was expecting the autor will just tell the diet to follow but first few chapters she mentioned how our lifestyle and industrial food environmet is tollay killing us in differnt ways. The beautifil words she mentioned "Food is medicine but people has made food for fun and enjoyment". Also she mentioned how the food industries are totally spoiling us with processesed food with various realtime examples. Lastly she said the types of diet we should have. Felt lucky to read such an amazing book. This book must be openly avaiable as a subject for everyone as she explains more real world things around us and how they are kiling us unknowngly.

Must read - If you have diabetics OR if you want to prevent one
I never read a book end to end in one go, especially if it is not an interesting story. But, 'Reversing Diabetics in 21' days by Dr. Nandita Shah made me finish the book in one go. The book is so interesting, informative and eye opening, I finished it all in one go. It also made me think for many days how to change our eating habits so that I and my family can stay away from this 'national' disease and stay healthy. Written in a simple style, the book made it easy to digest the information. The book did not stop with what to eat or how to exercise but went beyond and provided recipes that we can try ourselves. I really liked this statement - " Although foods (in super markets, packaged) are made to have a long shelf life, they don't do much for our own shelf life". A great book to read to get educated, about own health. Wish they taught these in schools!! But better late than never.
