The couch and kitchen chairs have some glue on them because of the material but they still look pretty good and were a fun challenge! The rock garden is AMAZING! Make sure to rinse the rocks before putting them in! All the detail really brings it together and the only part I didn’t use from the kit were the plants. I used leftovers that looked much more natural, except for the trees in the rock garden, those came with the kit and were adorable! I will also add “bubbles” to the bath using small opalescent balls in the future (waiting for them to arrive). This is how it looks now though! Love it! Thanks! One of my favorites!

The media could not be loaded. In response to my previous review. I got help from an expert with the lighting, it shouldn’t be that difficult. Also, replace with electrical tape. Otherwise YouTube for the win when it comes to instructions for this. Look up the name on the box on YouTube first!!!

Incredibly time consuming even for an adult. I would consider this to be for experienced mini crafters only. However, all the materials provided were high grade and just as they were shown in description.

I don’t think you ever get too old to want a doll house or at least I haven’t. This project was a little bit more than I could handle so I had to enlist the help of my husband. It was no challenge for him and it is oh so cute.

This lovely little kit comes with a pair of scissors, a screwdriver, an awl, a ruler, metal pointed tweezers, both white latex and clear alcohol-based glue, and a music box! There is thick pressed wood in this, and thin wood as well, as well as some pre-fab items (like the sofa and various food items). Everything was very neatly packaged in here, and there is a LOT of it! This being the case, please note that this is the "dollhouse" style rather than the "book nook" style of kit, so there will be direct-glue rather than tab fastenings. Meaning? There will be a LOT of gluing and waiting for things to dry.I have found in the past that your best bet when having to apply larger sheets of paper onto anything to first spread the white glue onto the pressed wood, then smooth it out with a glue brush, THEN lay the paper carefully onto one side, and slowly press it on from the side you laid it on until it is laying fully on the pressed wood. Then I use a paper squeegee to gently (GENTLY!) press out the bubbles. Take care with this part, as the wet paper can tear if you're not careful. Using this method has had my best results in a clean look.This all being said, I do keep my own miniature tool kit for doing extensive dollhouse kits like this one. My kit contains: fabric scissors/embroidery scissors, a needle, thread, paper scissors, a razor knife, screwdrivers, a small saw, a mallet hammer, paper squeegee with a felt side, wood putty, an awl, needle nose pliers, pliers, wire cutters, small/medium/large clamps, extra glues (both white and clear), various metal files (different types/sizes), paint brushes, glue brushes, metal pointed tweezers, metal slanted tweezers, sandpaper/nail files, rulers, clear tape, etc. That mostly covers it. I have found each of these things useful at times when making the dollhouse style kits (you generally do not need as much extra with the more simple "book nook" style kits). I also keep a set of various colors thin-tip markers to touch up where wood slivers have come off of items, AND on occasion I've had to dip into my acrylic paints as well. I enjoy doing these and do them a lot, hence the tools!The instruction booklet that comes with this is fully in color, on glossy pages, and has pictures (not drawings!). This is a bonus as drawings can be difficult to tell color differences and at times can make it more difficult to see what is going on. This was a good manual! It's a little bit different than other manuals I've used in that the "cut out" papers are the last three pages of the instruction manual. Well. I guess that keeps them from getting lost or folded up? So please don't be confused when you don't find those pages in your kit! They are at the back of your manual.So - this is not a beginner kit. I would not buy this for someone who is just starting this hobby, or someone I WANT to start this hobby. It's difficult (by that I mean a lot of small parts!) and might need some additional tools to get going. There's also a lot of paper craft involved in this type of kit. I would, however, think this is a great price for this kit to give to someone already involved in making kits like these! They would probably love it in my opinion - there's just so much to do, and so much going on in this little "shop".Overall I love the price for a kit of this quality. I love that it comes with a music box, and I love that it will take some time (this type of kit with this kind of detail will take over 24 hours to do on average in my experience doing them). To me that makes it a fantastic deal and a wonderful gift for someone who likes kits like these. HIGHLY, highly recommend!

Love the quality of the pieces. Nice hard boad. Directions could be better, tho. Especially, placement of lights. I'm going to have to run the ceiling light different as holes are on the wrong side. Otherwise, I'm happy with the product.
