Worked 2 times. Horrible design.
The idea of this was great and my 10 year old loved it for a full minute. He shot it twice then the string got tangled. I untangled it gave it back and apparently forgot to hook it so the entire string came out. I can’t get it back through the contraption. I’d return it but he lost some of the pieces so now it’s just trash.

Fun toy.
Very fun toy. Great for any kid who loves spiderman. Make sure not to give it to little kids because there could be a choking hazard. But overall it is a fun little gadget.

Shoots far but needs constant untangling from the retractor
Shoots really far! Has to be consistently untangled when it retracts.

Cool Toy, But Has Issues
The media could not be loaded. It's amazing when you think about all the engineering and design that went into this toy that shoots darts attached to a string -- similar to a certain comic book superhero who has spider-like powers. The manufacturers tried to think of everything, including a powered recoil-rewind button that will suck the string back into the main unit after being launched. It has a range of about 8 feet. You get an extra roll of string of 26 feet to replace the string when it wears out or gets damaged. It works quite well most of the time, but it tends to have a lot of glitches. For example, it's easy for the string to get tangled on rewind -- or it is easy to tangle the string after it shoots and you don't take care to avoid obstructions, etc.The trigger is very sensitive, so it is easy to shoot when you don't want to.I found pressing the dart into the chamber to be fairly difficult to do. I'm and adult so I have more hand strength than kids. Some children may not have the strength in their hands to load the dart home. However, I think most kids will be able to handle it.There will be a persistent problem with the string getting tangled inside the recoil chamber. I "fired" this thing a few dozen times and had about 4-5 incidents of inner entanglement. You then must open the chamber and detangle the string. Thus, there will be a lot of "stop-action" during play, and kids will pester their big brother, sister, mom, or dad to help them a lot with detangling the string. It's much easier to shoot by just holding the item with your hands, rather than attaching it under the wrist as designed. Please see the video I made to accompany this review for a "shooting demonstration" and more details.Even so, this is a fun toy despite the drawbacks.

Good, could be a lot better
I really wanted this toy to be perfect. It's fun to play around with, and it actually works pretty well. There are a few things holding it back that could make it better. The major issue was that the strap was sewn incorrectly. It's a hook and loop strap, but the the hooks and loops are sewn on the same side. There's no way to get the strap to hold on unless you twist it, but it ends up being too tight and/or comes off easily when you do that. So we just have to hold it to shoot. The second issue is that none of the kids seem to be able to load the darts, so I had to reload it for them every time. The "trigger" is extremely sensitive, so if it gets touched at all during loading the dart won't stay. I think this also goes back to the strap not working, it would be easier not to touch the trigger if it was holding on by itself instead of being held by hand. The final issue was that occasionally (maybe 10-20% of the time), the string binds up when you rewind it. You have to take the lid off and pull the string out from the winders.

Cool toy
My son is only 2 and he thinks this is the greatest! Obviously he's a little young so it's a toy I play along side him and help him figure out how to make it work. Great concept, fun toy!
