An impressive little box!
I recently purchased a 14" HP Spectra x360 (32 Gb memory), which I love for travel, but found that it's performance was getting bogged down due to overheating when running multiple screens with half a dozen workspaces active and 50-60 open tabs. Based on a number of reviews, decided to try this Minisforum as my main computer when not travelling. Out of the box, the machine ran the usual updates, then synched my microsoft settings and workspaces. It has, since, been running the multiple workspaces and tabs - some of which are running mapping applications - with nary a whimper. Barely warm, completely silent and noticeably faster under heavy workload than my beloved Spectra, this is an impressive little machine. Time will tell how it will age, but for the moment, I am impressed.

Great things come in small packages-sometimes
I got this mainly due to my new living conditions. I rent a room now and my bedroom is now an office/sleep quarters/game room. I have this mini pc behind the desk so that I can maximize my homework/work space on my tiny desk. Ok, now to the computer. I love the fact I can have multiple monitors running without issue. I have it paired with a blue tooth soundbar and I don't hear any apparent audio lag. I use it currently for video editing family movies and short clips for work. I also use it occasionally for light gaming such as Fortnite and older games on GOG. New AAA titles are something I have no interest in at the moment. It was easy to upgrade the storage by adding a Samsung 990 EVO 2 TB to go with the original 1 TB. Just be careful with the connected cables inside. All in all, this mini pc serves my uses well. Sorry for not getting too technical but if an average user is just looking to clear up desk space, then this pc is a great choice.EDIT-Ok, I had to submit a return order due to this little guy dying on me. It got stuck in a reboot cycle and tried a self repair with no success. I had spare ram modules which I used to troubleshoot any memory issues but I had the same problem. Since I had no spare SSD to use, I had to send it off for a refund. So any issues are up in the air at the moment, Windows being Windows or hardware issue... I would of liked to have had more time to troubleshoot on my own but the return window was closing fast on the weekend and I needed another pc. I'll look elsewhere for another mini pc since they are perfect for my living conditions at the moment. I've updated from 5 to 2 stars for being a trooper while it lasted. I'll give Minisforum another chance, perhaps on a newer model in the coming months/year.

Super Powerful, runs cool!
UPDATE 1/4/25 - The UM980 has an issue with Windows 24H2, I confirmed this with Minisforum. Their recommendation was to go back to 23H2, but though to do when MS doesn't offer it anymore. Minisforum knowing about the issue, removed the page for support of the UM980, including the links to drivers. I did get them to send me links to 3rd party pages that they claim have the drivers for this model. I assume once MS fixes the issues, Minisforum will again post their support page, but in the mean time I had to perform a clean install from Windows USB bootable device, and now this machine doesn't have updated drivers and seems to workHad this running for about a week now, it runs very cool compared with Ryzen 9 6900HX, and performs even better, and better frame rates! I would recommend this computer. I do wish MinisForum had better documentation and support, but I can figure things out when needed.

Powerful just like a fast desktop
I am extremely pleased beyond expectations with this remarkable mini pc. The UM 890 performs as well as I'm used to with my DIY desktop with a 12700k and DDR4 RAM. Plus I get the advantage of so much freedom of space. The best part is the great support from Minisforum prior to receiving and during the setup of the unit. Great advice and guidance in a friendly personal manner. The unit itself has a neat magnetic cover to avoid having to screw and unscrew when adding or upgrading Ram or drives. They included the occulink adapter which I might use later on. Right now I'm getting perfect 4k 144 Hz display on and M32u 32" monitor better looking then the 1080 Ti I was used to. Thank you Minisforum for a great product and service. I look forward to more.
