Really good book for kids about loss
I bought this book for my two cousins ages 4 and 8 who had recently lost their first dog. The book does an amazing job to explain that our loved ones remain with us always and are never really gone. Its a moving story perfect for kids to read. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who is going through loss (both person or pet).

Really special book
I would suggest getting this book before you have someone close pass away and you want to read it to your young children. I was literally sobbing while trying to read this to my 3 year old after a close friend passed away! Looking back and reading it now though, it's a really special book and helps with tough conversations about death. Pairs well with Invisible String

Sweet way to celebrate those we loved
We purchased this to help with the news that our 4 year old daughter's favorite uncle passed away. She loved the book, and I've found her silently flipping thru the pages many times in the 2 weeks since. She smiled many times during the initial reading, and she had sweet questions to ask afterward. I recommend!

Perfect Book
Bought for my almost 5 year old when her papaw died. Wonderful book that helped make the process easier for her. She started telling her memories as soon as we finished the book

Healthy book on grief, particularly after someone older passes away
This is a healthy book for children learning about grief. It relates best to an elderly person dying of natural causes, rather than an abrupt or traumatic death.

Lovely book for toddlers
Simple, easy to understand, and good for toddlers to learn about grief and loss.

Un libro favoloso, il mio bimbo di 3 anni me lo ha chiesto diverse volte, anche 2 o 3 volte di fila. Alla fine lo abbiamo preso sia in italiano che in inglese e non ci penso nemmeno a separarmene

This is a beautiful story book for grieving kids. The imagery is pretty, light, and comforting. The story offers validation, comfort, and hope. We bought this for our three year old after losing his pre-school teacher. He loves the book and it has been healing and hope-giving for him and for us. Absolutely would recommend for grieving kids and families!

This book is beautiful inside and out. The story is perfect for little ones and parents. So simply and full of love, it explains how our beloved ones don’t really leave, they will always be here with us. I recommend it for little readers 3 years +

This isn’t a book you’d buy for a regular bedtime story, it’s one to use to help explain the passing and emotional grieving of a loved one, it deals with a very tricky and sensitive subject very well. In this case the passing of my father in law and my mother. The book is wonderfully illustrated in such a calm and gentle way, nothing that requires explanation or understanding beforehand. Woodland animals and their setting. These books should be in schools to help with their understanding around death. (There are other books I recommend on this subject, The Fall of Freddie the leaf and the other is The Invisible String, both really really well done, my children still quote these books now, they’re 4 and 8, incredible, emotional but in the best way!)
