Works good for my Apple M4mini and for my LG TV. Nice and small so can pack it away when not in use. Cord is a little short but not a dealbreaker.

I rarely write product reviews, but thought this was worthy of my time. This may be just a simple portable USB CD/DVD writer, it is top notch! It comes with a USB-A/USB-C combo cable all ready and neatly tucked away underneath the device for easy connection to you computer. I also appreciated the high quality foam-lined case that comes with it for free. This case is nylon with zippers for the device opening, but also a bonus side pouch with a nice zipper too. Pulling out the device a plugging it into my Windows 11 laptop by way of the USB-C connector was a breeze and once connected, Windows recognized it immediately and I was off to the races… Nicely done by a company with name that seems at first, odd… and maybe that’s why I can remember it, because it took a moment to figure out how to say it… Not sure of the names meaning of Roo-Full, but maybe there is lots of kangaroos living around where it comes from… but it never did make me feel a little jumpy.. (ok, I’ll stop)

The brand Roofull is quality merchandise. My purchase of the Roofull DVD/CD portable drive worked flawlessly. The copies/ burning is excellent - no data loss. I, highly, recommend the Roofull drive.

Here is my early opinion on this disc drive after playing and ripping a few audio and data CDs: Pros -- It comes with lots of ports and features for a relatively low price. -- The power cable holder being built into the bottom of the device is helpful for traveling. -- It is truly plug and play on my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. You don't have to download any additional software or install any drivers if you already have Windows Media Player or something similar. -- The CD reading and CD ripping speeds are neither slow nor fast, just about what you'd expect from those tasks. It took around 5 minutes for it to open and extract a data CD containing a 700 MB zip file. And it took roughly 5 minutes to rip a 280 MB music CD into .WAV lossless audio files. -- You can get a free 2-year warranty extension after emailing the manufacturer your order number. Cons -- The power cable is shorter than I would have liked. You will have to set this drive right next to your PC's USB port. -- It's so lightweight that the whole thing moves when I push the disc tray back into place after opening it. The mechanical eject button only works for sliding the tray out, not pushing it back in. -- The super highpitched whining noise that it makes while functioning is a bit ear-grating. If you have a high sensitivity to sound, you'll want to wear noise-cancelling headphones while using this drive. -- The ROOFULL logo sticker on top of the device looks cheap, so I just peeled it off so that it wouldn't be such an aesthetic eyesore. -- Whoever's packing this company's shipments is putting A LOT of faith into their foam carrying case, because that's the only protection it shipped with inside of a thin plastic bag. Final Verdict With all that said, for only $30, I'd still say that the cons are mostly just nitpicks and not dealbreakers. I currently plan on keeping this drive and just dealing with the fact that it's good but less than perfect.

I needed an external CD drive for a new laptop. The description for this one met all of my needs and there were plenty of positive reviews. The item arrived quickly and was well packaged. The drive comes with two USB cables; one that is attached to the drive and securely fits in a groove on the bottom of the drive. Very convenient! I plugged it in for the first time and within five seconds it was ready to rip. I ripped four CDs into my ITunes folder the first time I used the device and there were no issues. The drive also comes with a very nice, well padded carrying case that has a zippered pouch on it to store the paperwork and spare USB cable. I wasn't expecting that. It makes it so much easier to carry around and travel with. If you are looking for a reasonably priced CD drive, look no further, this one is great!

I'm giving this product 5 stars based on the amazing customer service I got after discovering an issue. My new Win11 HP tower did not have a CD/DVD drive. I bought this one because it got some good reviews. Unfortunately, the unit I got would not recognize a blank CD and only wrote a data DVD at 2x speed. Since the company contacted me to see if I was satisfied, I reported the issue. I was contacted immediately by support and we tried various tests with the same result. They then sent me a new drive (in a prettier box) and it is working flawlessly. I feel the company, and especially the person I worked with, went over and above to solve the problem. Having worked in customer support, I can really appreciate the effort to make sure I was satisfied. Special shout out to Alice. The new drive works really well. I was able to create a data CD at a burn speed of 24x, although I may stick to a slower speed just to be safe. I basically use CDs and DVDs as archival storage for photos. In conclusion, a really good product from an amazing company.

I have a brand new Windows 11 PC from Lenovo, and this drive is not recognized by the new computer. I tried everything, and I shouldn't have to even try everything. .It's supposed to be plug and play and should just work. Originally, I was going to ask for an exchange thinking maybe I was the only one with a dud since there's been so many positive reviews in the past. But then I came back and looked at the most recent reviews from this past holiday season and it looks like a lot of other people's drive isn't recognizable or working or broke right away so I'm just returning this piece of garbage. Just because something was a quality product in years past doesn't mean it's still a quality product, because everybody is cheaping out on everything. And it is nearly impossible to find anything quality. Even name brand these days. It makes me so angry.
