This is a nice small camera board with the added feature of global shutter. This means that you won't get that annoying "jello" effect where things that are moving get distorted or bent/torn in the image. This isn't all that important for your average webcam/video chat use but if you are using the camera to monitor machinery or do computer vision, the global shutter makes a difference. Particularly if the camera is going to be on something that moves like a car or robot, the global shutter will give the computer a nice undistorted image to work with. This is also a good monitoring camera for something that moves a lot like a 3d printer, global shutter will make each frame clean even if the printer is moving fast. Note that "jello" is different from motion blur, this camera will get rid of the jello but to reduce motion blur you still have to have plenty of light so the camera can shoot at it's highest shutter speed. This camera has good color balance out of the box and will give a good picture in low light, it works much better if the scene is well lit so the camera can get up to it's full frame rate. It comes with a fairly short USB-A cable. The camera board itself doesn't actually have a USB connector, it has a 4 pin socket instead, so if you want a longer cable you will either have to make a custom one with the right connector or use a USB extension cord. Since this connector comes straight out of the back of the camera board, you will need to allow about an inch behind the camera for the cable to come out and turn the corner.

I picked up this little camera with the hope of enhancing my Raspberry Pi setup. I was initially excited about the possibility of adjusting the focal point, but upon unboxing, I quickly realized that this feature was not available. Additionally, the camera's image quality fell short of my expectations. Despite the product description promising clear and crisp images, the actual performance disappointed me. In a jist, it's a decent camera for basic recording purposes, but it doesn't live up to the hype.

This camera delivers exactly what it promises. With a simple UVC connection, I got 90fps video (not sure what Amazon will turn it into by the time you see it, though). Global shutter makes a big difference for periodic motion. Geometric distortion from the lens is minimal. The camera isn't much use in low light, but that's not a surprise, and not especially relevant for most global-shutter use cases, IMHO. This is a good piece of kit. Recommended.

As advertised, I was able to plug it into my computer immediately and use it on discord. I do have a raspberry pi that can use the camera module, but I have not figured out what I want to build yet. The camera quality was really nice, but it does not work that well in low light conditions. Despite that, someone with a well lit room can easily use the camera module as a webcam. I also noticed that it doesn't really have an autofocus. I was trying to get the camera to focus on a piece of paper and it would not adjust the clarity as I moved the paper closer and further to the camera. Regardless, the image was sharp and the 1080p resolution recording capability was more than enough.

High shutter speed. Wish it had a flash so I could use as an outdoor camera to see my driveway at night, but every other use has been awesome! It's a great webcam with multiple features. Easy to plug and play. Recommend.
