Love this power platform
I had a 15 year old unit that finally failed and was lucky enough to find this new Tripp Lite 6 power platform. I have it sitting on top of my desk and my monitor sits on top of it. Makes it super handy for controlling power to all of my office components in one place and right in front of me. There's a small green light under each button that lets me know what I have power going to and reminds me to shut off my printer or monitor power when not in use. I can also remove power from the entire unit, including my computer by the flick of the master power switch. I'm really happy with this unit and give it my two thumbs up!

A New Sleek Look For an Old Idea
If you’ve owned a computer long enough you probably remember these power centers that typically sat between your PC and your monitor. Like the less sophisticated ‘power strip’, they allowed you to plug all your stuff in to one place, and they give you some measure of surge protection. Unlike the power strip, these devices allow you to turn individual components on and off, as well as having a ‘Master’ switch to turn everything on and off. There are individual plugs marked: Computer, Monitor, Printer, AUX1, AUX2, and a convenience outlet marked ‘Unswitched’ (which is always on).Another nice feature of the switches in these units is that they are mechanical, that is, they stay in the position you put them in. So let say you normally want your PC and Monitor to come on, but don’t regularly use the printer; you can select the Computer and Monitor switches, then use the Master to turn them both on and off together, then turn on the printer separately when you need it. What I find most useful about this form factor, is that the switches are in the front, handy and easy to get to, and the cords are in the rear, out of the way and unseen. It makes for a clean and efficient workstation. What prompted me to look for one of these were my computer accessories: Powered Speakers, DAC, and Mixing Interfaces. The switches for these devices were all on the back and hard to get to, and I don’t want to leave them on because they consume significant power and generate heat. This Tripp-Lite Power Station works perfectly and lets me turn each device on and off when I need it, conveniently. It’s also black, and sleek, and fits nicely under my workstation desktop, though mounting took some creativity. As mentioned it provides surge protection and there's a light to let you know its working, another light lets you know your house wiring is correct. I do need to get some black tape in my lable maker and make these look a little better. 🤓I don’t know why these became unpopular, and everyone switched to cheap power strips (yeah, because they’re cheap, these are pricier), but I find these power centers far more functional (I have another in my equipment rack). This Tripp-Lite unit is well made, looks nice, and does exactly what I need. 👍

Great
A great investment. These are hard to find. Tripplite is the only company I could find that still sell these.

saves energy, while bringing all switches to your fingertips
Excellent, useful, and sleek appearance. I bought this to replace an older but similar Belkin device which ran "warm" (using too much power on idle). Along with surge protection, this device allows you to turn on/off printer, monitor, and two auxiliary outlet plugs of your choice (I use Aux #1 for my speakers). The CPU/computer plug is controlled directly by the Master switch; there is no "Computer" switch on the front of the device. Some people need to keep their computer running all the time (for remote access, etc.), but wish to save power by not running the monitor or printer. Turning the monitor, speakers, and printer on/off is within easy reach on this unit, without having to reach across, over, or under the desk to turn various devices on or off.A nice feature of this unit is the "always on" outlet, which remains on even when the master switch is turned off. This is particularly useful if you leave your modem and wireless router on all the time, in order to use wireless devices (smart phones, laptops, streaming Netflix, etc.) elsewhere in the home. However, leaving these two devices on consumes 15-20 watts of power at all times. For those who wish to turn off their modem and/or router when their computer is not in use, these devices may be plugged into one of the Auxiliary plugs, so that you can control on/off with the Aux switch. The former Belkin unit lacked an "always on" outlet, so in order to leave modem and router on all the time, I had to leave the Master switch on as well. I have only one electrical wall outlet at my computer desk, with the surge protector using one plug and a lamp using the second plug. In order to keep the modem and router on at all times with the Belkin, I had to leave the Master switch and the second Auxiliary switch "on" at all times. Eventually the Belkin unit began to run "warm", which means additional idle power was being consumed. The "always on" plug allows me to keep the router and modem powered up while leaving the Master switch and the rest of the device powered off, hence no idle power loss. The black color matches the black frames of most modern monitors, and the oval bases seen today on most monitors will easily fit on top of this unit.

A must for the office
Have used this Surge protector on my desk in the office for more than 2 decades. Accessible to turn off and on each item that is attached to it. For instance I have a printer plugged into one outlet and only turn it on when I need the printer. Saves energy and is an efficient piece to the office.

Justo
Justo lo que necesitaba, aunque hay que trabajar mas sobre el espacio entre contacto y contacto porque ya se usan muchos eliminadores que se conectan directamente

Problem with WIRING STATUS LED
I quite liked this surge protector, but it cost me $100 for an electrician! The WIRING STATUS LED displayed at red as soon as I plugged it in. I tried it in several different sockets with no change. So, as recommended by Tripp Lite I called in an electrician to check my home wiring. He tested everything and declared that the wiring was perfect and that the Tripp Lite was faulty. So, I took it to a different building, just to be sure. And, the red light came on again.
