Best attachment for your router
Mounts easily. The clear base and incredible dust collection makes it a joy to use your router.

Works but Finicky
It's bit of a PITA to assemble and get it mounted correctly but it does pick up 90% of the dust. I used it on a PC 630 with the plunge base. Depending on the job, you may need to fiddle around with the mounting quite a bit to get the hose port to come out where you want it. The base is not rugged. If you drop it I think it would shatter or at least crack. The best solution is a router with a built in dust port (e.g. Festool) but if you are like me and would never buy a new tool if the old one works this is a possible solution. I sprung for kit with the dust hose because the vacuum hose I have is way too stiff. The last thing you want is the hose steering the router.

Good DC Option for Router
Tested this product using my Dewalt 618 Fixed Base Router flush trimming MDF which can generate quite the dust. (Note: I ended up needing to swap the screws to M4-.07 x 10mm from the Big Box for a little more length to mount the plate). At any rate, I was utterly shocked at how much dust is collected. Like most DC items, nothing is perfect but collection on this felt pretty significant (given at one point I forgot to turn on the DC). Overall, great purchase!

Cheap breakable plastic!
Purchased this to control chips for routing plastic sheeting. It worked fine for the first five or so minutes, then when I tried to remove the vacuum hose that I also purchased, the connector that attaches the hose to the base plate just broke. This connector is also integrated into the base plate. It's designed to clip on and off the base plate. It has two flexible plastic fingers that snap and lock into the base plate. Well one of one these just snapped off. This rendered the whole set up useless as it has to be used with a shop vac to properly extract the chips. Tried to crazy glue it, impossible. 65 bucks down the drain. The major problem with this base attachment is the cheap and very breakable plastic it's made from. It's not designed for the rigors of a workshop. Save your money look for something else.

Eh ok
Eh, it was ok. With a universal plate the holes kind of aligned up, but since the bosch 1617 has a flat side the fat side, the base flats side wasn’t a perfect fit. Dust collection was significant better than without especially when routing straight down such as with Daniel work; almost no chips or dust. However, down side was when routing an edge...there was still a bunch of chips that got everyware though still less than not using it, but the biggest issue was the interference with the lower shroud and getting a clean cut on the first pass and you loose a little bit of feel of handeling the router on wood. While disconnecting the hose it got slightly stuck and popped out insert where the hose attaches. The only way to reinstall the hose attachment is to completely dissemble the plate, reconnect and screw it all down, and of course realign the plate to center it on the base. While the base is clear plastic, since it curved for optimum dust collection it is much hard to see you work as your route. Overall average...better than not having it but not $30 better. I built my own router table with a built in dust collection and it works much better than this....this product only comes in to play during free hand or on items too big to use on a router table.

Ridiculous
I don't know why I didn't buy this bad boy years ago. I cannot believe how much dust it collects! You will still have a little dust and some shavings to deal with, but holy cow does it make a difference! If your shop doesn't have air filtration, really you could use your router with this and no air filtration, it's that good. The only two complaints are, like with any dust collection, it does add a little cumbersome-ness to the setup, and you lose about 3/8ths of depth adjustment. You have to then make sure the shaft of your bit isn't all the way in, to reach the needed depth. No big deal, just makes me feel better when the shaft is all the way in (no innuendo intended).

Hose only fits Oneida dust collectors
Thought the hose would fit my Rigid Shop vac but it doesn't. Other than that the base attachment works perfectly. I have another hose attachment that fits my shop vac and literally no dust when using the base attachment!
