Peace of mind that's intelligent and intuitive.
I went years with the weight of not having appropriate smoke detection on my shoulders. But, this system was a huge relief. This a top tier smart smoke detector system. It's easy to setup multiple units with the app. I can name each unit so I know where in the house they're detecting something. I can even run my own fire drill to test out the detectors and my family's preparedness to handle a situation. We've had a couple false alarms while cooking, BUT I love that I can step right into the app to silence when needed. I also get an app notification, google home notification, and email notification that an alarm is going off. I feel safer with this, but also feel like I have better control and confidence in the with xsense than I have with standard systems in the past and without the clunkiness I've seen in other smart alarms. Eventually I'll add a carbon monoxide detector in areas where gas/combustion are more likely. Overall I can't rate this system, and the peace of mind it provides, higher.

Great so far! Easy to setup too.
I just installed this today and it went very smoothly. I read a review beforehand that said to pair the smoke alarms to the base station before installing them onto walls and ceilings and I'm glad I did! They do pair a lot more quickly when they're right next to the base station. I used a P-Touch labeler and labeled all the bases after pairing them and naming then so I knew where to put them. Tip: if you're anal like me and want the XSense font on the alarm to face parallel with a wall or edge, just make sure one of the 3 mounting screws is "top center". That way when you secure the alarm onto the base, the font will read parallel to the wall/edge!I have an old 1920's home with 9' ceilings and lathe and plaster walls, so it's a pretty soundproof and dense house. The base station is in my foyer on the first floor and the smoke alarms are pretty much right above and below it through each level. I have one in the basement, one on the first floor, 3 on the second floor (2 bedroom, 1 hallway), and one in the attic. The app shows every alarm having a good signal. I also tested each unit and they all tested flawlessly. The old smoke alarm on the first floor went off every time I'd cook dinner, so I'll probably accidentally test the system very shortly!11/7 EDIT: I've owned this system for over a month now and it has not gone off from cooking! I tested it by lighting a paper towel on fire, blowing it out and then holding it under the alarm. It went off instantly. My phone app also immediately went off as did the base station and other alarms, alerting my where the detection occurred. Great system!

Saved the Day
I purchased the entire x-sense smart system. It included both the smoke and the heat sensors. The app was easy to install on my phone and easy to use I set up several smoke alarms and a couple heat sensors. It was a couple of weeks after I set it up that I was out of my house and got an alert on my phone that an alarm was triggered. We went home right away and found out that a pan had been left on the stove and was smoking. We are so happy that the system worked as advertised and are thinking about expanding the system in the future. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a smart smoke/heat alarm system.

Reasonably priced solution with some odd shortcomings.
This is a nicely made system that is generally easy to install, assuming you have a working App to use with it. The detectors seem well made and are easy to install. The Hub installed and connected with no problem. Once the Hub is installed, connecting the individual devices to the Hub is straight forward and it is easy to confirm that they are working. The following issues were observed:1. You are very restricted on the voice messages indicating which alarm has been triggered. The voice cannot use any thing other than the pre-stored names which you do not find out until have you have given the location a name. Thus you are restricted to the names they have which may be completely useless for you for indicating where the issue is located.2. I invited my wife so that she could monitor the system, but the app version available in the app store (Apple App Store , v2.7) does not work on her iPhone 16 Pro Max. It allowed her to create an account but then crashes when she signs in and refuses to load. I had v2.6 installed on my iPhone 16 Pro Max which appears to work. I have prevented any upgrade on my phone as it may not work. This makes the system less useful. Also note that the way the application is tied to the system via the invitation is to make sure that the person who gets the invitations uses the same email address that was used in the invite. I cannot see this explained anywhere but I am not sure how it would work otherwise.3. It is very unclear whether the detectors are connected with each other if they are paired with the Hub and the hub fails or goes off line.4. The detector to detector pairing process is complicated although when packaged together in a set they are supposed to be paired without going through a manual process.5. The suggested types of detector (smoke, heat and carbon monoxide) are not available in a convenient set as per their typical suggested home requirement, which means you need to buy a set of smoke alarms and then buy carbon monoxide and heat alarms as needed, making the process unduly complicated and more expensive than first anticipated.6. The set I was shipped was already 7 months old thus reducing the life from 10 yrs. to 9 years and 5 months. It also means that the batteries may need replacing earlier than anticipated.7. One of the detectors had had the battery removed from the alarm (they are supplied with the battery fitted and a insulating film in place to prevent the battery making contact and activating the alarm) and the protective film that prevents the alarm being activated removed. I suspect my set was a return. In summary, this may be a reasonable system that is competitively priced but there are a number of issues that make installation and configuration more complex than it need be and the fact that the App would only work on my Phone is a serious short-coming.Update 3April 2025: App updated to 2.7.1 stopped the app crashing when an invitation is received but required the app to be deleted and re installed when devices added by another user.
