Subtle Anchovy Flavor - Tiny Little Fishies
These Bokksu anchovies come so nicely packaged, I felt like I was receiving a gift! Each can is boxed within another box and wrapped in bubble wrap, too. The quality of the anchovies was very high. They are a subtle flavor, not like Italian or tube anchovies. The salt is light allowing the flavor of the anchovy to come through. The texture is soft, no crunch or chewiness. The black pepper and basil are also faint, and do not overpower the anchovies. I enjoyed eating them straight from the can, tbh, and then atop a bowl of hot white rice. The quantity of fish within each can only fills about 1/2 the can itself, with the rest being oil. But the oil is also delicious and flavorful, and I used it to make a salad dressing later. The price seems high at nearly $10 for each small can, but the quality and flavor is certainly high, and being an imported product, may indeed justify the price.

Unique tinned fish
They are good. Didn't realize they were mini anchovies and I don't like then as much. No fault to the seller but prefer full size filets.

Husband Loves Them, Eats 5 Servings At A Time, Nice As A Gift
4 tins in this order; 1 tin = 5 servings; serving size=1tbsp!I had to laugh at this, because my husband can easily down a single tin of his usual anchovies as a quick snack! But he loves anchovies and wanted to try these. I'm not a fan of them, so I asked him to offer his opinion and rating, since I seriously doubt I would ever try them -- except maybe as fishing bait, but that's for a different review. :)-----Here's what he says about these Japanese Shirasu anchovies:I've never tried these before and imagined that they would be of the dried out, salty, pizza topping variety. They are not salty at all, having a light hint of basil. Texture is soft but firm. I've been eating them as a spread on buttered sourdough toast. They are a perfect addition to Alfredo pasta and would do well as a salad topping.-----At about $40 for a 4pk when I ordered, we both consider them kind of pricey, so not the best value for us to buy regularly. He thinks of them as a sort of caviar substitute -- he loves them, so at least I know I can safely get these for him on his birthday or other special occasions.4 stars from him!

Tasty, Milder than Expected, Natural & Fresh.
Thank you for these Bokksu Shirasu Anchovies! This is a four pack of 2.82 oz Tins. Presented ok. The anchovies being in a well-crafted oil, ready to eat. The first can covering about a slice and a half of toast proved very pleasant! Not being that familiar with the world of anchovies, they were milder than expected. I would say being reminiscent of "slightly fishy crab" there was hints of childhood crabsticks! :) So quite edible by self or without much accompaniment. Look forward to trying them on a flatbread or spaghetti!Overall, good! Thanks again!

Great for quick meals
These anchovies are pricier than average but they are ready to eat and really, really tasty. They are great from a quick meal or snack like on toast, in rice balls/onigri, or just rice generally. you can definitely taste the black pepper and oil it's mixed with but the flavor is not strong and is actually quite nice. Loving these anchovies and would definitely recommend!

Beautiful Packaging, but Not a Family Favorite
The tinned anchovies are nicely packed, making them a great addition to any pantry. However, the taste didn't resonate well with my household. My husband, in particular, was not a fan. While I appreciate the versatility of these anchovies for dishes like onigiri, rice, stir-fries, and spaghetti, we found the flavor profile to be a miss for our taste buds. If you enjoy anchovies and unique flavor combinations, it might still be worth a try, but it didn't hit the mark for us.

Good, but not what I was expecting
This is canned mini fish. I was expecting regular anchovies. They are good for appetizers, just be sure this is what you want.
