This is literally plug and play, it connects very easily and has various options for both the distance you can send the current but at the detriment of mb/s data transfer speed. It looks tidy on top of my nvr and supplies my cameras with the power they need and the data transfer speed for the images is very fast so there’s no glitchyness or poor picture quality. Excellent value and manages my cameras needs perfectly

Just before Christmas, I decided to re-jig our network, splitting it in two, moving some of the local only traffic onto another subnet, with its own router. As part of this reorganisation, I realised that we required an additional PoE switch, so let my fingers walk across the keyboard. I found a few switches within the budget I had set, this on from Mercusys was one of them, along with the usual suspects including TP-Link. I like TP-Link, their warranty is excellent, there was a 5 port TP-Link (4 PoE ports) which was £1 more expensive than this Mercusys one, which has 8 ports (7 PoE ports). I'd seen quite a bit of Mercusys equipment popping up whilst searching for equipment, though never purchased one, until I ordered this one. I have to say; I am really pleased with this PoE switch, though the icing on the cake was a sticker saying Mercusys is a TP-Link brand, I suppose in the same way as Kasa and Tapo. Have been using this switch for a couple of weeks, it has been flawless performance wise. When I purchased this switch, it was £25.99 which I consider this to be a bargain, when you know it is a TP-Link brand. For me, it is a definite 5 star recommendation.

Superb value for money. Mercusys is a sub-brand of TP-Link. Most brands seem to charge an excessive amount if you want (or need) a POE switch and are often around double the amount of this little beastie. Obviously I'd prefer a higher POE budget, but let's be real - it's an exceptionally inexpensive POE switch with a more than adequate 65w POE budget. Yes, it's in a plastic case, and yes, I'd prefer a metal chassis, but that's not going to happen any time soon at this price point. If you need a 7 port switch (POE or not), do yourself a favour and just buy this one. Even if you don't need POE now, you could well in the future and at this price point it seems a bit daft to buy anything else. It's literally plug and play - just use halfway decent patch cables.

Saved me using another power adapter for router and other ports used as normal switch. Have non poe tplink external camera unused because of hassle of wiring,so might try with poe splitter as camera external location can be mirroring internal location of this switch
