Very Specialized Product Does the Job
The unit is very well built from machined aluminum with a durable black finish. It comes with four 3.7v lithium-ion batteries which produce a powerful UV light. The on/off button has three modes. The first click is the highest lumen output, there are two lesser levels on subsequent clicks. One more click and the unit turns off. The on/off button also doubles as a battery level indicator. When fully charged the button lights up green. When the unit needs charging, the button will be red. The button only lights up when the unit is on, or if is plugged into the USB-C cable and wall charger. The cable and charger are also included. In the box you will also find a wrist strap and UV protective glasses. Sadly, there were no instructions included, nor could we find any online. Instructions would help the average user. The batteries charged fully in about 5-6 hours; however, the unit would not turn on. There was one small note in the box that said to remove the plastic from the batteries before using, that batteries are accessed by removing the lens end of the unit by unthreading it counterclockwise. The other end unscrews as well, like normal flashlights. However, there is nothing to access from that end of the unit. Indeed, there was a transparent wrap on all four batteries. Strangely, the unit was able to charge with the wrap on the batteries. The unit definitely highlights materials that can absorb and re-emit the ‘black light’. It works best in a dimly lit room; however, it will also work where the ambient light is not overly bright. The UV light also has a USB output port for charging other electronics. All in all, a very well-made UV flashlight. I removed one star for no instructions or any access to support.

Better that the Convoy!
I bought this light for fluorescent rock hunting. It has a wider spread than the Convoy which I prefer, but the light is every bit as bright. I sent the Convoy back.
