Probably one of the best kids games on PS5
I've just got my boy a PS5 and most of us know that the PS5 comes with astrobot playroom preloaded on the console which gives around an hour or 2 of gameplay. My boy absolutely adored the astrobot rescue mission game on PS4 VR as well so wanted to play this game as well. The game has a fantastic blend of gameplay and interaction combined with colourful, graphically gorgeous worlds that make full use of the PS5 dual sense controllers motion control, microphone and adaptive triggers. It's an amazing title to add to your collection and a must have for kids. I have to admit that I also love playing astrobot as I did the PS4 VR version and I'm middle aged lol.It would be interesting to see if this is made into a VR version for the new VR2 and I would also buy a PS4 version whether that's VR or not I would buy another copy for the PS4.Come on developers make this VR for the PS4 and 5 as we loved it.Bit pricey but we purchased this when it was ÂŁ43.99 during Black Fridays reductions so a bit cheaper.A fantastic game that is worth the money and has masses of replayability. Most of the levels are relatively easy to do although coming up against the end bosses of each level can be challenging. The speed run levels are particularly difficult and I think the developers should really make these easier for kids. I would have liked to have seen a easy, medium and hard level selection so children can have a fighting chance to complete the game but this isn't an option unfortunately.Another huge plus for the game was the additional Xmas bonus level that unlocks when you complete the game (the developers really should have given this to everyone regardless of their completion percentage) which was a timely addition just before Xmas lol. This game has deservedly won the game of the year, it's fun, it's varied and has loads of fun elements from becoming tiny like a mouse to being a large sponge astrobot soaking up water then squeezing out to grow plants for coins or putting out baddy fire characters etc etcI really hope the developers make more astrobot games because they are fantastic games for kids and adults. Please don't forget about the PS4 players either and especially those that own the original playstation VR headset because this would be fantastic in VR.Top game and deservedly the winner of game of the year.

Fantastic game for anyone - young or old
I'll start by saying I was a huge fan of the original that came bundled with the PS5 at launch, and so was eagerly awaiting this sequel which promised to be even bigger and bolder, and it has certainly not disappointed. The variety of gameplay is fun, refreshing, and easy to pick up but every difficult to master, which is a blueprint that any platform game should follow. There's tons of levels to get stuck in, each with their own secrets to find that adds to replay value, and plenty of bonus/time trial levels on top. While the varying difficulty can sometimes get frustrating, it rarely gets boring or competitive. If I had one lament, it is that some 'power's that Astro acquires in the game get a lot more screen time than others, but that me nitpicking really.Last thing I would say, is that my wife isn't a big gaming fan, but absolutely loves this and we really enjoyed taking it in turns trying to beat levels, offering each other handy (and sometimes not so handy!) tips on how to beat a certain level. So if you're not usually into games, or you know someone that isn't, this might just be the game that'll turn their head!

A platforming gem đź’Ž
Astro Bot is back, and let me tell you, this game is a blast! Right from the start, it's clear this is one of the best uses of the PS5's tech, especially with the DualSense controller. You really feel every movement, jump, and slide, and these sensory stimulations add a lot to the experience. The game itself is a platformer, so think Mario vibes but with its own unique style. It’s colourful, cheerful, and full of charm. The levels are incredibly creative, with lots of hidden secrets and clever designs that make exploring super fun. Plus, the bosses are massive and challenging, but not so hard that you’ll want to rage quit. One of the best parts of Astro Bot is how it celebrates PlayStation’s history. There are loads of little nods to classic games and consoles, which will make any long-time PlayStation fan smile. Even if you’re new to the PS5, this game is easy to get into and just a joy to play. The only downside? It's not super long. But honestly, it's so polished and fun that you'll love every minute of it. Perfect for players of all ages, Astro Bot is one of those games that reminds you why you love video games in the first place. If you’ve got a PS5, this one’s a must-play!

Beautiful looking game which is reasonably challenging. Super fun to play. Must have PS5 game.
This is a really beautiful game set across 70+ levels and plenty of other hidden secrets and lands to find. Vibrant colours and an engaging and familiar 3d platform style with a lovely camera movement that allows for looking over edges and finding hidden walkways and areas down below. Nothing too challenging but not that easy either and if you dont cheat and try and find everything yourself on each level it takes quite a bit of work. After a while you get more of a feel for where things may be. A big note is the wonderful use of the PS5 controller with sound effects, vibrations and feedback from the controller all enhancing your gameplay. I tend to play an hour or two at a time and am about 15% of the way through after 6 or so hours. Taking my time, finding everything before moving on and enjoying the journey. It's a must have, fun, engaging, nostalgic game and a really nice change from all the more "hard core" games usually found on the platform. I love it (aged 52) and so does my 13 year old son "DAAAD you dont do it like that" know it all
