Hikvision IP Camera 4MP PoE Indoor IR Wireless WiFi Cube Camera with WDR DS-2CD2442FWD-IW 4mm-International English Version

I have tried several of the so called cube cameras and those that move as well. Overall they have all been poor quality or poor in reliability. The Hikvision was recommended by someone who had experienced the same issues I had with the alternatives - so worth a try.This camera is excellent - from its ease of setup and use to its image quality and angle of view.After using the first one for a few months, I bought another and am equally happy with both.These are the best for the home user and home security system.

The camera itself appears to be good. The firmware version 5.5.0 is pure junk, very buggy. I have other HIKVISION cameras with older software and they work well. Also the company support is poor.I will update my review after a working firmware version is provided.Vontacted Hikvision USA: There response is:The provided Serial Number of the device that you purchased is NOT from our USA/CANADA authorized distributor.So, you will need to go back to your point of purchase for support.

Product description lists 4mm camera lens. I instead received the wide angle 2.8 mm camera lens. Make sure you check the side of the box to verify.

This camera is doing everything that I was looking for. This is one of several Hikvision cameras in the network. I would say that it has the best clarity of the Hikvision cameras in the network. It should be noted that this is this one is indoor and my others are in outdoor use. When placed in the corner of a large room, the lens angle covers the entire room. The picture quality is excellent for both daytime and night vision. Since it is connected through a POE interface, there is no need for a separate power supply. The wifi and the micro SD card are not being used.

Fantastic little camera. I use this in my front window. For this kind of setup you need to turn off nightvision, but the street is well lit so that was not a problem for me. Setup is simple as long as you're using it w/ other Hikvision gear, or ONVIF and you can easily discover its DHCP address.

So first off I would like to let anybody that reads this know I install these cameras for a living. Every camera we order for work comes with the factory provided power supply. This one did not as shown in the picture I provided. That empty slot in the box is for the power supply. Until I can power up the camera I cannot review how good it works.
