LectroFan Sleep White Noise Machine (USA Version, US Plug Included)

We bought this unit for our son who is autistic. He previously always slept with a fan on to reduce the number of noises he could hear when going to sleep. However, this was not ideal in the winter. Therefore, we decided to give the lectrofan a try. The machine is smaller than we had anticipated, and you can chose from various different types of white noise. You can also adjust the volume on it, and my son switches it on every night without complaint, and it helps him to fall asleep quickly. We are hoping it will also mask the sounds of the very early dawn chorus in the summer, so that he can stay asleep for longer. The machine does not make sounds of nature, such as waves, but if you are needing white noise then this has proven useful. We are planning to take it on holiday with us, as it is quite portable, to mask noises from other guests staying in the hotel.

This is a great little machine. There's a choice of sounds, fan or white noise, though I only use the white noise. There's a range of pitches and a 1 hour switch off timer. Its powered with a usb cable so no bulky plugs. It's small enough to put in your handbag so very portable. We bought this to use in our bedroom with our 1 month old baby. It's brilliant. Does such a great job at hiding background noises. Or even the husband clattering around in the kitchen next door or people talking loudly. When the baby is overtired which happens sometimes, we put this on loud enough and it helps him to drop off to sleep. I would definitely recommend this product for parents or anyone wanting to block out noise.

Can't rate this highly enough. I don't know how this little machine manages to do it, but it successfully masks the noise from the neighbour's TV through the poor insulation in the wall. On the very rare occasion now when the TV manages to wake me, I find I don't fully wake, but just notch up the volume on the machine slightly and drop back to sleep. It's taken away the stress of the situation. If you've ever spent several nights a week awake at 2am when you have to go to work the next morning, you'll know what I mean. It has multiple choices of white noise and fan noise, but I just picked one and haven't had to change since. I really wish I'd bought it years ago. Update June 2017 Still working amazingly well. Getting full night's sleep every night. Can't believe the noises I used to hear have completely stopped since I bought this machine - but I don't hear them and I sleep well. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I have used this product for four nights in a row and the impact is tremendous. My bedroom faces a very busy road, and I have noticed a major decline in my sleeping pattern since. I have been contemplating moving homes and I bought this as a last resort. There are 10 white noises and 10 fan sounds. I use the white noise setting, and I adjust the volume, as required. I place it beside me when I go to bed, making sure it is on the side of the bed facing the road. It takes about five minutes for me to get used to the white noise. After this initial period, it is very easy for me to drift into sleep. I have found that I now sleep deeply and the traffic noise is effectively muted. When I wake up from sleep, I feel sufficiently rested. I like the fact that the machine is so small. I can easily carry it about or reposition it.

This machine works! I had been relying on the noise of fan in my bedroom since the Summer, to drown out the noise of other members of the family getting up for work, in adjoining bedrooms and the noise of the shower running and footsteps across the landing, etc!! However, over the past few months having the fan on made my bedroom too cold (apart from it being a costly waste of electricity!) and I had been "investigating" what would be the best alternative. Having read various Amazon reviews, I thought this machine would be most suitable - and thankfully it's proved correct. I am really pleased with the selection of fan noises (I think there are 10 choices) as well as volume adjustments to suit. There are also "white" noises available - which I am not too keen on, but as other reviewers have said, I think these would be suitable for getting a baby off to sleep - and keeping the baby asleep! I am definitely pleased with this purchase. Initially, I was a bit undecided as the Lectrofan is a bit more costly than other products available, but it is worth the money in my view as it's something that I will use for years to come.

The only reason I'm giving this 4 starts rather than 5 is because of the price. The product itself is great but it is a little expensive. I have this on overnight and it's really great. Very easy to use: on/off button, a timer if you only want it on for an hour (if you don't use the timer it will just automatically stay on until you turn it off) volume adjust button and then several different fan or white noise sounds to pick from. The sound quality is very good and it's a continual sound. Personally I always have it on the fan noise because I prefer that and it does sounds like a genuine fan. Most importantly it's worked to drown out the annoying neighbour noises and noisy boiler I have in my room. I couldn't sleep without this.

I have been trying to find a white noise machine loud enough to drown out all noises, and finally the LectroFan device does that. Lots of options, a wide range of sound levels. I cannot recommend this enough if you are a light sleeper and need to drown out noises.

Excellent at blocking extraneous noise!!! The machine comes w/ European/UK/USA plugs. Shall travel with it. Haven't slept w/ earlplugs since receiving it. Wish I had bought this years ago!

Me parece un gran invento. Antes no podía dormir bien por problemas con mis vecinos. Ahora no tengo que preocuparme de que hablen a voces. Muy útil.

Es un aparato pequeño, que cabe sin estorbar en el escritorio o mesa de noche, pero su bocina es potente. Se puede conectar con un cable USB a la computadora o a un cargador de celular. Genera varias frecuencias de ruido blanco y simula sonidos de ventiladores, que ayudan a dormir o a concentrarse en un ambiente ruidoso, debido a que están tapando lo que suena alrededor. El sonido que produce no es música relajante ni nada es eso, es algo como un motor de avión, monótono y denso. Se puede decir que es algo como un desodorizante que se usa en el baño, que probablemente no es un perfume bonito, pero es fuerte, no es desagradable y su función es ocultar olores más feos. Obviamente si hay una apisonadora trabajando al lado o un escándalo muy fuerte, el dispositivo no va a poder tapar el ruido de este tipo, pero es muy recomendable para personas que quieren eliminar ruidos más tenues, sin embargo molestos, como televisión, voces, vecinos, perros etc.

I have purchased multiple of these units so that there’s one in each bedroom at home and at my parents’. There are many fan sounds and they’re easy to pack. These work great for med-day naps and overnights for sound sleep. I can keep the volume really low and still hear things or turn it up to block out the world.
