Works better than my traditional machetes
Upfront disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review.Machetes are something I never thought I would need, but then I bought a house with a very overgrown river access that someone planted bamboo in...and now I use machetes all the time. I have a couple machetes, one is a Gerber and the other is a Fiskers. Both work well but they have thinner blades in a more traditional shape which results in them needing to be ground and sharpened quite a bit more often. This one has a much thicker blade that frankly cuts so much easier on thicker materials. Even when I dented the blade hitting a rock accidentally it kept working beautifully. The steel is just better and it is holding an edge better than those prettier traditional machetes. I will always take function over aesthetics in tools and this one is fantastic. As an added bonus, not having a pointy end seems to make it a lot safer. Its basically a yard cleaver and that is a much better design it seems. I probably will have to get a second one for my wife now.

Super sharp out of the box!
Be careful opening this great cutting tool out of the box. It is wrapped in a protective plastic but man is it sharp. I came close to slicing my palm. Really good weight but I did wish it was a little more balanced but “it will cut” no problem. The carrying sheath seems a little thin for my liking but will protect it and keep from cutting you. I’m not sure how long it will last though. Machete is great value and will help with the long brush in the backyard.

Great machete
Reminds me of the machete or jungle knife in South East Asia. This is a versatile knife that can chop small trees, brush, and can also do light digging with its flat tip. The only issue I have is the handle. If it was wooden it'll probably not slip in wet conditions. The plastic handle is cheap and small. Overall, for the price, it's a great buy. I use it for camping and yard work.
