I've had the paperback for a few weeks now, and I'm in no way affiliated with it, nor do I know the author... but it's a damn good book! While it's a book for 'beginners', it gives you all the tools necessary to get your chops together to build a real solid foundation. Then the sky is the limit! Each chapter goes step by step, with examples so it's not too complicated or daunting to start off. Put the hours of practice in and you can't go wrong. All the examples are clear, well explained, and comprehensive. The theory is laid out in a useful way too, definitely helping me get a better 'feel'. All in all, I'd highly recommend it to anyone whose looking to start out on drums, or to tighten up what you already know. The only caveat being that this is my one and only drum book, but it covers everything you'll need so maybe it's the only book that you need?! Massive thank you James, you've done a stellar job.

It's straight to the point great trip from start to finish and if you get the kindle app and buy the book on kindle it plays demos for you by clicking on the number on the lesson this is such a solid teaching encounter iam thrilled with it

So far great, just make sure you master each lesson before moving on to the next. Out of all the other books I've had on drum lessons this is the easiest to follow.

Para quien comienza y es muy básico y quiere aprender de a poco a leer la partitura pero ojo, que todo está en función de leer notación para bombo (bass drum), tarola (snare, caja) y contratiempo (Charles, hi -hat). No esperes ningún ejercicio para también aprender a ubicar y practicar ningún otro tambor ni cymbal. Es únicamente para lo que te dije pero también incluye para el mismo snare y bombo las notaciones con puntillo y corcheas para ubicarlas y saber diferenciar cada una para interpretar correctamente (velocidad, silencios) de acuerdo a la notación. Otra cosa.... El audio se compra aparte. Dentro del libro viene el sito web para pedir el archivo de audio y poder ejecutar correctamente lo que te dije momentos antes para que al escuchar comprendas mejor y ejecutes correctamente.

Great lessons for beginners, I have been praticing on a pad and the excersices have helped me develop my coordination, it's incredible what you can do with imagination and a metronome. I will be buying my first electric drumset pretty soon and I'm very excited!!
