Soft Matte Silicone Protective Shell Skin Case Cover for Sony Walkman NW-A306 NW-A307 NW-A300 Series (Black)

I saw an online post of a person reviewing 7 cases for the NW-A306 and says that this was his personal favorite. Sony has two official case for this device. I'm not a fan of their folio "book" case as that is limited to only 3 sides protection out of the 6. Their other case is a silicone one and many people mentioned that one is a dust magnet and is as flimsy as a Livestrong bracelet which means the device will easily slide out and fall. A $350 device does not need that type of protection. This one has a sand feeling to it and it is hard to describe other than if you ever bought a grip case from dbrand either for phones or the Killswitches for the Switch 2 and Steam deck, it is very close to that feeling but not identical. So much so that when I put it in my jacket pocket which is lined with cloth, it acts almost like a Velcro which gives me confident that it won't be moving a lot in the pocket as the texture is caught in the threads. I was tempted to get the rugged one but that makes the device that already has a small screen look even smaller. Now about the compromise. I got and used my NW-A306 for a couple of weeks naked waiting for this case to arrive and have since quickly gotten used to using the side buttons without looking. The top most button is the power/sleep button, the following button has a dimple on it which means I've arrived at the volume+ button and obviously under that is volume - button. Rolling past another button and keep going until another dimple and its the play/pause which means the button above it is next and the one under is previous. Easy to remember. This case covers all of that but does not pass on the dimple tradition by not including it. I now have to rely on the button counts from the top and the size of the button feel. Power is at the top as always, volumes are The person who reviewed the cases said that it will get softer over time and I'm not sure if that is true or the hardness of the buttons just increase his press strength. It is still to early for me to tell about the button press force. It does also cover the micro sd card port which I'm okay with as I'm not constantly take it and swapping with another one out. It's just that the majority of the time if I have to put new songs into the device, it will take longer when transferring via usb c. All in all, it's grippy, minimal, looks nice, and I'm gonna take it to lots of places in the devices lifespan.

Purchased for the nw-a306 Sony DAP. Fits very well and acts as added protection for the screen from scratches when laid face down. This is my second one, as a future spare, even though it is much more durable than I expected. It is a smoother silicone construction which does not get stuck in the pocket and it remains lint free, yet does not pick up finger prints. Excellent value. Seller is very prompt...3-4 day delvery time.

Great fit, Matte look, you get the point. but the smell.. OH THE SMELL! The smell will follow you for a while. Is that a good thing? is it a bad thing? you be the judge. This may be my last review.

This case fits the Sony A306 very well, it’s clearly been manufactured to a high standard. It has a sandy matt texture to it which adds to the grip and premium feel but without the stickiness of some silicone cases. It’s something you have to feel to truly appreciate, but I think they’ve nailed it here. The Walkman feels well protected without much extra bulk, with the added benefit of being easier to hold. The case protrudes above the screen, leaving a small lip. The case covers the micro sd flap, so you’ll need to remove it if you need to open it. However the Walkman can be connected to a pc via a usb cable, allowing access to the micro sd card. There are some drawbacks with this case. The side buttons are noticeably more stiff, making them harder to press. There’s a kind of “mushiness” to them. And the “volume up” and “play/pause” buttons are flush; unlike the buttons underneath, there’s no tactile dot to easily locate them. Overall a great case, if you don’t mind the buttons.

Now I’m not afraid to take my Sony out. The case fits perfectly and feels soft with a slightly rough matte texture, but not like sandpaper. It gives a nice grip without being sticky, and the player looks even better in it. Buttons work fine, nothing slips, and it feels ready for real life at last.
