Mark Twain Cursive Handwriting Workbook for Kids Grades 4-8+

I purchased this book for my daughter to introduce her to cursive handwriting since she has yet to be expose. I purchased it because it is the same way I learned how to cursive write when I was younger, so the trust was instant. The book has cursive guided practice with each letter, letter combinations, days of the week, months of the year, common abbreviations, and how to not only read parts of a historical document in cursive but how to write it also. I would recommend this book over any other cursive handwriting book for any child. It's easy and self explanatory! I also coupled this book with the Handwriting Practice Paper for Kids: Bumper 200-Page Dotted Line Notebook (Handwriting Practice Paper Notebook / Blank Handwriting Practice Books For Kids) to help with more reinforcement of her cursive handwriting.

So glad to have something for my granddaughters while they are out of school for so long! A great time to have extra time to practice cursive writing!

Now that we are homeschooling, I discovered that my kids (6th, 3rd & 2nd grade) were never taught cursive in their public schools. So I have been looking for a cursive workbook that they could work on from throughout the school year or at least for a long period of time. This is a decent cursive workbook. The only problem I had with it was that it was a really thin book. Everything else looks great. But I was looking for a thicker book to have them work on over a longer period of time. If we do a page a day we might be done in a month or so, depending on how often decide to pull them out. I wasn't wanting to have to buy another cursive book every month. There is enough in there to get a nice introduction and some practice, but other cursive workbooks offer more space (and pages) for practicing. We decided to return these and ended up buying the Learning Cursive: Handwriting Practice Workbook for Teens: With Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution & Bill of Rights Copybook for our 6th grader (very thick book if you are wanting a lot of practice) and found another cursive book that was designed for younger kiddos for our 3rd and 2nd graders. This workbook is great if you want to get a quick introduction, extra practice after school or to have your student brush up their skills. But if you are wanting a thicker book, I would try the one I mentioned above, also available here on Amazon.

I took all the pages out, copied and made multiple binders for my grandkids to learn cursive since they aren't teaching this in school anymore.

The instructions and visual format is very easy to comprehend for my grandson to understand. The illustrations of the numbers, letters and lines made it easy to work with him on his level and beyond. My grandson does not get bored and shows interest in learning how to cursive write.

This is a great way for my students to learn and practice cursive writing. They complete one page a day and are doing great!

Very well organized and progresses nicely. Starting with each letter, than double letters, words and phrases to excerpts from people in US History. Highly recommend. Our school started teaching Hand Writing in 3rd and then like everything else with Common Core, they abruptly stopped teaching mid-4th grade year. I bought this to start over so Mastery of Hand Writing was achieved.

My daughter loved this book for practicing cursive writing. They do not teach this at her school and she really wanted to learn.
