Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin (reissue)

Un new adult esilarante e allo stesso tempo dolcissimo. Ho amato l'amore fraterno tra Gaby e Eli (e in generale l'amicizia con tutti i ragazzi delle due band), e mi è piaciuto tantissimo vedere Gaby e Sacha diventare amici, poi qualcosa di più. Adorabile.

J'ai enfin lu ce Mariana Zapata qui ne me faisait pourtant pas super envie à la base. Est-ce que j'ai passé un bon moment ? Oui. Est-ce que j'ai adoré comme tant d'autres livres de cette autrice ? Non.J'ai aimé cette histoire de tournée, la relation fusionnelle entre Gaby et Eli, son amitié tout aussi forte avec Mason et Gordo. C'est chouette de les voir tous les trois toujours aussi proches après toutes ces années. Et c'est drôle aussi, car ils passent leur temps à se faire des crasses et des vannes, c'est drôle, on rigole souvent, l'humour est gras, irrévérencieux, on dirait des ados de 15 ans avec leur trip pipi caca vomi et j'ai parfois ça redondant et lourdingue.Sacha est un personnage au sujet duquel j'ai au final l'impression de ne rien savoir ou presque, on reste trop en surface pour mes goûts.La romance tape encore une fois pile dans le slow burn, mais je reste sur ma faim car je trouve qu'on voit peu de différences dans leurs attitudes respectives une fois qu'ils sont en couple.Finalement, je retiendrai surtout de ce tome l'humour potache (tire sur mon doigt et autres joyeusetés) et l'ambiance de la tournée, d'autant ça m'a rappelé toute une partie de mon adolescence. Mes frères aînés avaient un groupe de rock et j'étais fourrée à tous leurs concerts, que ce soit dans des petites salles, des bars, des mini festivals, donc l'ambiance backstage, les potes relous et l'humour douteux, ça sentait encore plus le vécu pour moi ! !

Mariana Zapata is known for slow burn romances and this is no exception as nothing happens until about 85% of the way through; in order to pull off the slow burn you really have to develop the characters and I don't feel like she developed Gaby beyond her 'cool girl' persona. Another book by this author, The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, gives a much better pay out for sticking with the it.Overall, some nice moments including a great representation of friendships and a few funny lines, but everything about it is underdeveloped and immature.
