Victoria Letters Hardcover – January 1, 2016

Helen Rappaport's book about the young Queen Victoria has been excellently researched from letters written by Victoria and her family and friends.No easy task to collate all this information. which resulted in this fascinating book and the BBC series. The book stops when she was about 24 and I so hope that the author will write a sequel to this excellent. A very well worth-while read which I enjoyed so much

This is a beautifully illustrated and well made book. Lots of lovely photographs from the Victoria television series that aren't over publicized in addition to her letters. Well done, I'm happy I bought it new,

The book tells general facts and ideas. I expected to read more details and letters rather than snippets.

When I ordered this I had no idea that it was the exact same book as "Victoria The Heart and Mind of a Young Queen: official Companion to the Masterpiece Presentation on PBS" The only thing different is the title. Nothing new is added, content, right down to number of pages is the same. Luckily I ordered this duplicate book "used", so not a lot of money, and I will pass it along to a friend who is also a fan of the series. My review is not based on the quality of the book, or the timeliness of the arrival by the used book seller. I give it only one star because it is very deceptive, giving the impression it is a new book, when actually it is an exact reprint of the first book based on the TV series, with only the wording of the title being different.

A wonderfully informative book about the early years of Queen Victoria, from her childhood years to her marriage to Prince Albert. This runs alongside the first series of the ITV drama Victoria. I loved the snippets of the written letters from everyone around that time (not just Victoria) and these made all the events back then feel so much more recent than they actually were. Contains some beautiful photos from the TV production. Loved it!

Ich habe dieses Buch als Geschenk für meine Tochter bestellt. Die Freude war gross, als es ankam! Das Buch enthält viele Fotos aus der TV-Serie und ist daher absolut zu empfehlen für Fans👍

Bellissimo libro, ben fatto, ottima rilegatura, si presenta veramente bene.Io l'ho acquistato per 12 euro circa (7,95 libro + 4,99 spedizione in quanto non prime), comunque li vale tutti e anche di più per la cifra pagata. Ottimo regalo anche per chi ama la serie tv e/o la storia della Regina Victoria. Il libro è in inglese e all'interno sono raggruppate alcune delle lettere più importanti delle fasi della vita della Regina assieme ad immagini e riferimenti della serie tv. Belle immagini all'interno e ben strutturato a capitoli. Consegna addirittura in anticipo di una settimana rispetto al previsto. Ben imballato.Lo consiglio vivamente!!!

Intéressée par la période victorienne et désirant en savoir plus sur la reine Victoria j'ai acheté ce livre. Je ne regrette pas mon achat, c'est un ouvrage magnifique avec de très belles photos de la série d'itv. Les textes sont d'une historienne (Helen Rappaport) et racontent chronologiquement la vie de Victoria, . Il y a régulièrement des "portraits" de personnages historiques qui gravitaient autour de la reine (sa famille, tous les "domestiques" mais aussi son chien, les politiciens...). Chose intéressante, on retrouve des extraits de sa correspondance ou de son journal intime qui nous en apprennent plus sur sa personnalité. Bref, je suis ravie de mon achat.C'est le genre de livre qui fait un très beau cadeau de noël!
