works perfectly for on the go or laying on the bed
I’ve been using the ally for a while now and I’m really impressed. For a handheld gaming PC, it offers great value and feels well worth the price. The performance and screen quality stand out, especially compared to other devices in this category. The build quality is solid and it feels sturdy and comfortable in the hands, even during longer sessions. The screen looks great, with smooth motion and vibrant colors, and the high refresh rate makes a noticeable difference in gameplay. Performance has been better than I expected. Most games run smoothly with some light tweaking, and it handles modern titles surprisingly well for a handheld. The software takes a little time to get used to, but once everything is set up, it works well and offers plenty of customization. Thermals and fan noise have both been solid. It gets warm under load but never uncomfortably hot, and the fans are noticeable but not annoying. Battery life depends on the game and settings, but with some adjustments you can get a decent amount of playtime. Overall, there are a few small things that could be improved, but nothing that ruins the experience. I’ve really enjoyed using the ally and would easily recommend it.

Screen Should Be OLED
I think it should be a little bit cheaper for the price that it is but other then that it’s definitely what you pay for and is perfect for handheld gaming the battery in it all depends on how big the games are your playing very easy to use download speed seems pretty decent to me and the compatibility to my Xbox games form my console is great I can basically play every single game I Owen on Xbox and steam it’s great quality on the games are decent could be better if they used an OLED screen instead but I like how you can enhance the quality a little bit so I would give it 6/10 but it’s still not anything your really gonna notice I mean you definitely can if you compare the two but it’s still good

This device also has Windows 11 as the Operating System
Slick little handheld gaming PC with access to most gaming platforms (Epic, Xbox, Steam, EA, Ubi, etc.). Feels great in your hands and is easy to use. Windows 11 OS is a bonus. Does not have great battery life. Maybe 2 hours of gameplay before having to recharge.

Surprisingly powerful for a lil device
I've been using the Rog Xbox Ally for over a week now and I've been loving it. Due to medical issues I can be stuck in bed days at a time and this will definitely make those times less boring. As far as performance goes I'm very impressed. I've played a handful of games on it such as Helldivers 2, Fallout New Vegas, WoW, Dreamlight Valley, and AC: Shadows. I played everything in medium'ish graphic settings. Helldivers was the only one that I had any real issues with. Had some pretty strong frame rate drops if too many enemies were around. I am a little disappointed in the battery life. I was able to play for about 2 hours till I need to plug in. This isn't really a problem if you don't plan on traveling with it. As far as comfort goes I can't complain. It surprisingly weighs very little. The design of the grips, placement of the analogs and buttons are great. I found it very easy to play for long periods of time.

Better than the Deck
The Steam Deck is nice, but it only plays some of my games. This plays them all. Think about it: you are playing games on a windows PC. Think what you want about windows and Microsoft, we are talking about playing games here. The Ally plays windows games. I don't need to worry about if my Steam games are in Linux or not. This is important for playing new and old games. Most older games are not going to be Deck verified. As for function, the Ally is great. I have it because I like to move my PC between rooms and even take it on trips. I do NOT use it for handheld gaming. I have a Nintendo Switch for that. But I do dock it to the living room big screen and enjoy. You can buy a couple of docks and easily move the system from room to room. I used to lug my 30lb tower on a luggage trolly between rooms, no joke. As for performance, this little PC delivers. With in reason. It runs everything I throw at it, it does not run all of those games on ultra or high settings. That was never, I don't think, the point of the product. So don't expect this to rivel a $3000 gaming rig. I knew that coming into it. And I am ok with it, in fact thrilled. This costs so little that I am really impressed. It doesn't overheat, I play it for hours each day. It has a lot of tweakable features for performance and customization. It does look good and play good when in handheld mode, I just like the big screen in my living room. I am really glad that I picked this up. IMO, this type of product is likely the future of gaming. These will just continue to improve and so long as the price remains approachable, I think you will see products like this for years to come.

I was eyeing for the Lenovo GO due to issues with the SD card slot killing SD cards for this mode, however due to the significant price drop, I opted for this instead. I'm familiar with the ROG brand and it didn't disappoint. For the right price, definately was a deal to take. Software is ok, just the display sometimes it acts out a bit, since you have no mouse, touch screen is a bit tricky at times. You can get a hub and connect a KB/Mouse and make it into a PC for easier use.

When I received the product, there was a drift in the analogue. I do not recommend buying used.
