Barilla large shells 12oz is a Reliably great pasta with great texture and flavor.
Barilla large shells 12oz is a Reliably great pasta with great texture and flavor. They made a great meal for 7 with leftovers using two boxes and some cheese and my own Sunday 6 hour gravy/sauce and meatballs. Added to boiling salted water then checking it after 7 minutes i can always test barilla's bite and adjust the cooking time without the worry of it going from rigid to mush in an instant. The change is gradual and the texture is easy to get spot on to whatever you are aiming for. i like it to have a slight bite to it so it still holds its shape well but is cooked through. I fish one shell out every minute or two and run it under cold water for a second then taste it for texture until i have it just about perfect, then as i drain it and add whatever i am adding to it it arrives at where i like it.

Best Jumbo's
This is my third attempt to get Jumbo shells. Barilla has the largest of the three brands I bought. The others weren't large enough to stuff. Expect broken shells. I ordered three boxes, and after tossing the broken ones, had two boxes of shells remaining.
