Brilliant
Does exactly what you expect. We had ours set for 9pm for 20 minutes daily, using the full number of outputs and a single large water butt lasted a week without rain and nothing died. Just watch ling gaps between outputs as the fixed chewed through it, but easy enough to replace the section of tubing.

Wow ! It works !
I was pleasantly surprised to find this works really well. It is fiddly to setup and I struggled to get the pipes supplied on the water in and water out tubes, in the end I used a small round screw driver to stretch the pipe ends and that did the trick. Getting the level right for the "water out" sensor was easy enough, just lined it up with the outside of the water butt and wrapped insulation tape round where I wanted it to enter the top of the water butt. I saw a comment from someone about water leaking out even when the unit was switched off - this is the Syphon effect. The instructions explain that on the water outlet you should put one of the T-connectors and link in the little white syphon valve, make sure you get it round the right way the valve needs to allow air to go into the tube but not allow water out of the tube. Its easy to see if you get it wrong, when you test the pump and then turn it off water will continue to drain out ! Or you could simply blow/suck on the syphon module and that will tell you which way round it should go... allowing air into the water out tube stops the syphon effect. Considering its solar powered its a powerful little thing, yes it is a bit noisy but I run it for my greenhouse tomato plants for 5 minutes every 6 hours and that seems enough to keep them healthy. You can see from the pics that I just made a tiny hole for the water tube in the butt - make sure you use the mesh filter and put the couple of marbles supplied in it to weight it down. I simply screwed the solar unit into the lid of the adjacent water butt. On the first run one of my T-pieces popped off the tube so make sure they are all pushed on and connected firmly. Didn't give 5 stars because its noisy and you need to be aware that one of the tubes - probably for the "water-in" is a slightly wider diameter than the water out tube used to irrigate the plants which wasn't clear. Have Fun.

So far very Impressed
I bought this item to keep my planters regularly watered. I have only had this set up for 3 days so far but it is working exactly as I wanted it to. I researched multiple options but ended up choosing this based on the price, functionality and equipment included. I am using one of my water butts as the water source and have it connected to 6 planters in total of varying sizes, heights and positions. It was quick and easy to set up. There is plenty of flexibility in the way you can arrange the the system. The tubing can be cut to the required lengths to suit your needs, the T connectors allow you to divert the water in the directions required and you can choose how many drip nozzles you add to each planter/pot/container depending on its size. I have a walkway between some of the planters so have the tubing going down from one side, under the ground and back up to the planters the other side and even with me using all 30 drip nozzles the pump is powerful enough to get the water round to all of them. The controller unit allows you to choose how often and for how long you want the system to run for allowing you to keep your plants watered automatically. The solar panel charges the battery so you do not have to worry about having the system plugged into a mains socket for power.

Useless.
Didn't last 2 months before it stopped working. My partner has not be able to repair it so a waste of nearly £50.

Has potential
So I thought hard before purchasing this as it had less than a hundred reviews and while some were positive a few pointed out inadequacies. But all the reviews came across as genuine, not repeating advertising or being overly effusive - so I took a risk. Here are my reflections so far: 1. The instructions on putting the thing together are woeful- in particular, the diagram of where things go is tiny and grainy so it's hard to confirm the right approach. 2. The instructions don't have an initial list of what's in the box, which I think is a glaring omission and would have helped make sense of the woeful construction diagram - particularly in regard to which pipes are which. 3. That having been said I was able to figure out what pipes to attach where by applying common sense (and a large glass of wine to lubricate it). No additional equipment needed as I think a couple of reviewers suggested. You just have to make sure you are using the right pipe for the right purpose. 4. There are 4 lengths of pipe in the box, one has a larger diameter than the other 3. This is the outpipe (not the inpipe as other reviewers suggested and as I initially assumed ). This pipe fits quite tightly over the outside of the "out" labelled nobby bit on the controller ( for want of a better description) and is best attached to it by first soaking the end in very hot water for a minute or so to soften it so it stretches. 5. One of the other 3 pipes is used the in pipe. This pushes quite neatly inside the nobby bit labelled "in". I guess you cut it according to the size of the container you use it in but I'm keeping it in one piece hoping to use a water butt. The lantern shaped thing with 2 marbles in is attached to the other end of this pipe. 6.The separate and quite different wire with sensors on is self explanatory. I can't dor the life of me figure out how they work. 6. All the other lengths of piping inches box (and anything spare that you cut off the inpipe) are used to create smaller outpipes that you connect to the wide outpipe with the tee connectors provided, and to suit your needs. Ive not added any in yet as I'm still testing the unit with the just the main outpipe attached ( no plug in the end yet, I've just got the end in an empty bucket to check water comes out at the specified intervals. So far so good. 7. I did manage to drop the controller while testing and both the in and out pipes fell off. So when I'm happy with everything I will probably secure them with twisted wire or waterproof tape and make sure the controller can't slip and dislodge them.
