I installed a new deck hangout in an afternoon. Excellent quality welds and overall construction. Easy installation, though it requires planning.If you purchase PT wood be sure to fit the pieces dry. I had to groom some swollen wood to fit easier. Plus, remember these wood pieces are heavy, so think of WHAT pieces can be installed in advance and WHEN they should. I used an adjustable step ladder to keep the heavier 4x4x10' elevated while fitting the other pieces. Try NOT to tighten the pieces that don't need to be tightened until full assembly. Allow yourself the flexibility to move the fittings in different directions, even while attached. Eventually, I want to put a hard roof on it; but this summer, just stretching a waterproof canvas roof over it.Good luck and enjoy.

Strong, lost in fire!

We have a lot of family get to togethers and needed more room so we decided to build a cooking porch of our back patio. My husband has a co-worker who welds and was going to make something like these brackets. The brackets are very nice looking, easy to use and fit the 4x4’s perfectly. The quality is great and heavy duty. My husband bought different screws and painted them black. Can’t wait until it’s all finished! Will definitely be ordering more for another project off our shed.

The random anchor bolts were not sufficient to anchor into the concrete so I purchased tapcons and framed everything up with small screws. When I began using the long black screws supplied they either stripped at the head or broke off because they are soft metal, and I was only screwing into wood exterior paneling. I didn't want to return everything having come this far and the brackets themselves seem solid, so I will have to go purchase a bunch of heavy black screws to finish.

I wanted to build a pergola for my wife, but couldn’t find the right parts at local stores. Found this set and it was cheap and worth it! Was very easy also to put together and now we can enjoy our pergola with family and friends!
