I only use headsets to connect to my phone and listen to music and directions, so I can't comment on the intercom feature. The headset connected well to my iPhone and now auto-connects when I turn it on now. The sound quality is just fine compared to others I've owned including big brands like Sena. It volume is also plenty high without going to max - even on the highway. The large dial is used/turned to change volume, FFW, RW, or pressed to start/stop. I find this much easier to use than buttons because it's easy to find and grab. I got this one specifically because I wanted the video recording function. The video on/off is a separate button, so I can just turn it on when commuting and I don't need to connect to my phone. The video recording is plenty good for a "dash cam". It records to a micro-sd and records in a loop, overwriting the oldest stuff. I like that you can stick it onto your helmet or attach it with a clip. I use the clip - it holds well, doesn't move, and the unit disengages easily when you need to charge it. This is great for the price. I would definitely buy again. The vid clip has the audio turned off because it would just be wind.

Audio quality is good, camera quality is good, easy to install. Drawbacks, little to no app functionality, instructions for connecting are vague. Updated to 4 star. Support was very helpful and quick to respond.

I don't like that I am buying this replacement because the original headset with the R1 Pro headset crapped out. The headset itself is okay, but I can't really hear at any speed above 55 mph, and I mostly ride between 70-80 mph so it's useless at those times. I have it in a Shoei RF-1200 helmet and the earpieces also don't line up optimally with my ears, which also affects the sound. I used to use earbuds but thought this would be a better solution, plus I was attracted to the camera features of the R1 Pro headset. It lasted about a year before one ear piece started getting static-y on me and breaking connection (the wires were wearing out). I cut out the earpiece when it went dead, and the other one went dead about 2 months later. The headset works great when it works, mic is good for phone calls, people I'm talking to are surprised to find out I'm on a motorcycle (they couldn't tell), but again, that's only for speeds under 55 mph. Might be optimal with a different model of helmet?
