Good Smile Company Dead Space: Isaac Clarke Figma Action Figure

I never thought I’d adopt a space engineer armed with a plasma cutter, but here we are. This figure has more detail than my car dashboard, and the articulation makes him strike poses I haven’t managed since high school gym class. The build quality is excellent, feels sturdy enough to survive a Necromorph attack or at least my cat knocking him off the shelf repeatedly. The accessories fit perfectly, and yes, I’ve already made him pose dramatically on top of a stack of bills I don’t feel like paying. whether you’re a fan of the game or just need a tiny armored roommate who looks perpetually stressed out (relatable), this figure delivers. He comes with his signature weapon and suit, which means I can finally reenact my favorite “don’t open that door, Karen!” moments from Dead Space in the comfort of my kitchen. At one point, I had him guarding my fridge like an action figure sized bouncer, and I swear my midnight snacking decreased by 40%.

Let me make it unambiguous: this figure is SHARPLY DETAILED. Isaac looks exactly like Isaac should, and does look to a very fine degree. I rarely go for more "premium" figures, typically remaining on the cheap/mid-cheap options (with all the expectations those entail), but as rare as quality Dead Space merchandise is these days, I was willing to bite, and I have no regrets. I am spoiled by all of the love and craft put into this, with one obvious exception: there are some blatantly unhidden ball joints in a couple of places, and no one will possibly overlook them. Is it worth it for the high level of articulation Isaac allows? I think so, though your mileage may vary. It is also not a "scaled" figure, so if size mismatches bother you, be aware this one will be on the smaller side. I deliberately have him (and the metal Marker from the remake's Collector's Edition) in the middle of a display of (mostly) NECA Xenomorphs, which absolutely dwarf him at a 7in scale (even before considering how comically large the Romulus Alien is compared to the others). It works to really give an eldritch feel to the Aliens, but it's absolutely a disparity nonetheless. There could have, perhaps, been a few more accessories, as the selection of his Plasma Cutter, a "firing" effect, a "low health" version of his back RIG, and some extra hands is on the sparser side for something in this price range (though I have seen, but not bought, worse cases). As often as Isaac's face is visible in the remake, an alternate head would have been nice, some of his other weapons would have been nice additions (though "One Gun" playthroughs are common in this series, so I can't say it's inarguable for this one), a "holographic" ammo count attachment would have been cool, and if they really wanted to spoil us, having a swivel for the Plasma Cutter to be turned horizontally or vertically would have been perfect. It's not to say that any of these are necessary, and I could certainly keep thinking up more, but lost potential may sway a few people, too, so it felt worth mentioning. Finally, and hardly a complaint since it did its job correctly, I suppose, but the pegs that come in the extra hands to avoid catastrophic shrinkage were quite lodged into the hand designed to hold the Plasma Cutter, which is the one most people are most likely to use on display. I'll just pass on what I had to do in case this happens to you. Plastic like this can handle being heated to expand without damaging the figure; my sink running as hot as possible was not doing the trick, so I moved to doing bursts from a hair dryer plus some pliers clamped onto the base of the shrink peg were able to pry it free, though I was borderline debating moving on to near-boiling water per the difficulty still present.

Great paint job. Articulation could use thigh swivel, but it's still a great Isaac Clarke figure. Accessories are sparse, though the cutter he comes with looks nice.

Amazing customer service and the figure came in the mail without any damage or creases! I live overseas for work but the figure came in on time as expected and without any issues. Would buy from them again!

90 dollars and this broke almost instantly

Great looking figure, articulates well and has a nice little stand to help it stay upright. Just be careful with the joints, they are a bit delicate and can be prone to breaking. Nothing a little super glue can't fix!

Not sure if it was a defect, but I have many figures. This one the arms broke while I was casually posing him, again. Not sure if its a defect or what but sadly his quality was not good.

Great little figure, but pricy when you account for the accessories. Paint quality is great, and articulation is good, but my figure came with a defect in the right shoulder that doesn’t allow it to go all the way in.

Buena calidad. La calidad de la figura es buena. Ojalá pusieran más detalle en las articulaciones, pero en general si te gusta el juego la figura te gustará.
