Business Class Switch
This is NOT PLUG & PLAY. This is a serious switch that must be configured by a professional. It offers trunking, VLANs, multiple IP addresses (IP4 & IP6), static routing, SNTP with Neighbor Discovery, and a slew of tools and logging managers to make sense of it all. If you do not know how to configure a firewall, you will not know how to use this device. The user manual is over 100 pages thick, and is full of network jargon and requires a deep understanding of networking technology to even understand what it is saying. Point is, if you are looking for something simple, look elsewhere. If you are looking for all the power a managed switch can give, then you should give this one from Linksys, owned by Cisco, a serious consideration. It offers 10G uplink to a root network, which is perfect for most offices, where the in-the-wall cabling can only support 1G connectivity, but switch-to-switch, switch-to-firewall, and switch to gateway can all be 10G. You can (and should) segment the network, and use Quality of Service (QoS) settings to make sure the most important computers maintain fast connectivity, at the expense of others. The switch is also useful for operations that require redundancy, as multiple LGS352C can communicate with each other via Layer 2 Switching, and you can mirror traffic on a single LGS352C, from port to port, for a wide variety of reasons. You can even manage, navigate, and prune spanning trees with STA, STP, MSTP or RSTP, and CIST. If these acronyms don't mean anything to you, then you might not be the ideal user of this switch. If these acronyms do have meaning for you, then you'll understand that this switch is a Swiss Army Knife of managed switches, and can do just about anything a high-end Cisco managed switch can do, but without having to be fluent in the special lingo of Cisco. This switch uses a web based interface, and every setting can be accessed through one of the menus, but if you don't know what the menus mean (those acronyms again!), then even the simplest menu will be of no use to you. Network pros, however, will love this switch. I know I do!Five Star Managed Switch

Solid Switch for a Great Price
It is really amazing what you can get for $500. This switch has all the capabilities of a high-end switch including VLAN, traffic prioritization, and static routing but is also really great as a plug-and-play switch. This switch allowed us to completely overhaul our entire network by replacing a number of older smaller switches that where heavily bottlenecked with 1G connections. The SFP+ ports are really fantastic. The fact that the switch has 4 uplink SFP+ ports was perfect for our needs. I was able to use one port for a 10G link to the other side of the building where we have another 24-port switch. Upgrading from a 1G link to a 10G one has made a great difference in overall network congestion. Additionally, being able to connect a couple key servers with 10G links has increased throughput for some of our most important functions.Overall happy with the 'Linksys LGS352C 48 Port Gigabit Managed Network Switch with 4 x 10G Uplink SFP+ Slots - Advanced Security, QoS, Static Routing, VLAN, IGMP Features - Metal Housing, Desktop / Wall Mount".

This is more for a business
We got this for our small business and had it installed professionally. It's been working great for about a month.

Great managed switch
So far so good, setup easy and provides an easy to use UI to configure everything. This is just in a home lab, but all the config looks like something that I would also deploy in a client production environment, depending on client needs. Supports VLAN tagging, port mirroring, routing, storm control, link aggregation, QOS, spanning tree, etc. Very feature packed. Nice that it has the SFP/SFP+ ports there to uplink to other devices or servers that have a fiber card. Typically you'd want to just uplink it to a fiber switch, but nice that it has 4 ports for use. Even has some auto features for VoIP is what it looks like, didn't really dig into that aspect. Looks like auto VLAN for VoIP feature which is also a nice addition. I've always been a fan of Linksys equipment, this switch doesn't disappoint. Fast, quiet, good value for the money.

Massive switch that just works!
This device just works out of the box. Management is simple with an easy to use interface, allowing for all 48 channels to be addressed individually. Worked right out of the box and has given us no issues at all in a 30 port usage environment.
