Well made compass (convex) plane. Beautiful dense wood. Sharp out of the box.
This ebony plane is manufactured by Mujingpang, whose miniature planes I have found to be excellent tools. Like another of their planes, I tested this out of the bøx because it felt sharp enough. I did not have a project going, so I used a narrow branch destined to be a walking stick. It did very well. See photo.Vendors of Mujingpang planes charge widely varying prices, so scroll through the buying options for mini planes made of ebony. I got this for just under half what the most expensive vendor was charging.
