I recently tested Chia Charge Energy and Protein Bars during an ultramarathon, and I was impressed with their performance. I really like that these bars are made from real foods and contain recognizable ingredients. The protein bars have a great crunch and just a small amount of added fibre (it's a pet hate of mine seeing loads of bizarre fibre-boosting additives to protein bars). I feel a lot clearer what it is I'm eating with these, the taste is good and the texture is a really nice change from all the chewy/gooey bars on the market. I'd love to see these also produced in half size like the flapjacks.The mini flapjacks are a great change from energy gels and the small size is particularly convenient. A couple of minor issues I noticed were chia seeds getting stuck in your teeth and one bar crumbling on a hot day in my pocket. That is me being picky though (I'm not sure any bar would survive that pocket!) and I would still buy them again as I enjoyed the taste and prefer fuelling with real food. Overall this pack is a great way to try the range and work out which sizes/products fit best for your needs!

The butter flapjacks are very nice amd contain more natural wholesome ingredients, but I'm not keen on the vegan bars with the heavily processed ingredients such as soya protein crispies and "natural" flavouring.

These bars taste great firstly. They are a good size. The ‘big ones’ are almost too big for one go! Great to stick in your jersey pocket or back pack for a snack boost while out on the bike. Also easy on a sensitive stomach. And good value!

So I usually ride with Veloforte bars for on the bike fuelling, thought I'd give these a try for a change. Just back from a training ride and I have no complaints about these. They fit nicely in your cycling jersey, there's a good variety of flavours to chose from and I felt they nourished me well as the ride progressed. Pleased with my purchase, I would recommend.

It’s about time a did a review for Chia Charge, I wanted to give it time to make sure I could give an honest opinion over a number of months rather than an “out the box” review.I’m fairly new to distance running I was up until 2019, a 5k runner so had no real need to consider nutrition.A couple of years ago I decided I would start marathons/ultra marathons and really picked up my distance training. As you’ll know getting equipment right when running distance is key, I tried loads of shoes, loads of socks, compression tights etc but the thing I struggled with was pre run and during run energy.I found some of the big brands left me feeling unsettled and a bit…. Claggy.I thought I’d try chia, I was initially put off by the price but I’m honestly so happy I spent the extra £s on these.They digest easy, the store well and they taste great.I use bars for pre run and if I’m doing distance I top up every 90 minutes or so. These things got me through my first marathon, my first ultra and continue to be my absolute go to when it comes to “on the go” sports nutrition.Personally I buy salted caramel only now but I’ve not really found a bad flavour I just prefer the salted caramel.It’s a smaller company that communicates with you personally, give it a go, your legs and your tummy will thank you.

I ordered the box from Amazon which said vegan protein bars, and other reviewers described them as suitable for Vegans, but only two bars out of the 10 were vegan, the rest contain butter and milk.I got a refund but I will not buy from this company again as I resent its misleading advertising and I will not support companies that use products that cause harm and pain to animals.I am upset on behalf of the reviewers that have consumed them thinking they were vegan. This in fact is dangerous if they are avoiding dairy because they have allergies. People have actually died by being misled like this.This company needs to ditch the dairy so everyone can enjoy the bars.

Not used Ghia Charge for a number of years but gave them a try again to make sure the quality was still as good. Really pleased with the sample pack which had some really good bars/flavours. Definitely got me coming back for more
