It is important to remember that these are inexpensive throwers.
It is important to remember that these are inexpensive throwers, however you do have to put a little work in to make them ready for normal usage. These do not have an eye like traditional axes or tomahawks. It is closed at the top like a pipe cap. The handles are not made of a wood sturdy enough for throwing. However, you can remove this handle and fit an oak or similar dow rod that you can pick up from most hardware stores to it and you are good to go. Just a little work and the price makes it worth doing.

Extremely poor design, 1/10
Extremely cheap build, designed to be throwable from the description but upon actual use is often top-heavy with a loose head. Even a newbie like me know that glueing the head to the handle is flimsy at best, and mine broke on me (the head popped right off the handle!) on the fourth throw. Not worth the purchase for anything other than a costume aesthetic.

Handle broke on first throw
The handle broke on the first throw. This hawk may be for ornamental purposes only.

After some modifications it's perfectly fine
I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit discouraged by some of the bad reviews that were on here due to the weakness of the hilt but I was determined to correct the issue, and share how to correct it with others! the problem seems to be in two parts that the neck of the actual tomahawk is not as tensionaly strong as the bottom of the handle and the head is glued to the wood instead of screwed in, or wedged in. While you can screw in a screw through the top of the ax head this may serve to further weaken the neck of the hilt so the best way to deal with this is to both reinforce the head of the ax and the neck of the hilt. This is best done using hempwick twine. The reason I chose this is because hemp has the highest tensional strength of any natural fiber, and the hempwick twine itself is coated with beeswax, which will allow you to wrap it around the hilt as many times as you like and then melt the wax using a lighter in order to seal the twine onto the ax itself! this seems to make this tomahawk not only incredibly reliable but stronger than my one that cost five times as much. You can get 400 ft of hempwick twine on Amazon for like $10 and you won't even need to use half as much of that.

3 stars cuz the price. But guess why is cheapo?
Ok so i got it for throwing, and even though i got to throw some, yeah i noticed inconsistency, due to not correct balance. The the main issue is that axe head itself doesn’t have a hole to insert the handle through so the tip of the handle that goes through is not long enough, throwing it will easily make the weak tip of the handle snap off. So i even put a screw through to see if would hold but it doesn’t, not enough wood at the tip of handle to be able to hold it in a throwing. I of course first drilled it, used a bit same diameter of the screw at the thread and the wood portion the handle i used a bit same diameter of the screw shaft, not the thread. So i could have the threads engage deep in the wood at the hole. But it will be used now just to make small cuts in wood and chip. Still i know it would not hold long, so in case it breaks off, i might get a stronger wood for handle and cut a hole in the axe head at the portion that goes the handle in a way for the handle be able to go through , this is the only reason i wont return, $12 bucks is great yeah quality sucks, not like in the description pictures . But for throwing I don’t advice. Not worth. Axe metal is also too soft , easily chips off, the chips on the blade is because it hit the wire fence . That is pretty soft. Was also easy to drill through. Anyways i will look for another brand to throwing

This is a very useful item to have on hand where ever you go.
This is a great item, old world presence, new world practicality. My axes are lite, throw well, and are very well built. They will be with me for many years. Thoughtful and fast delivery.

This sucks, broke on the first day.
Worked good- for the first 3 hours. The handle sucks and the head is welded on the top, so if one wanted to put a new handle it will be impossible. I will say don't but it if you are planning on using it on a daily basis. As a home decor, it would be ok but at is all.

Just as described

You get what you pay for, handle broke off after about 5 throws... they were light throws, the head seems good though so the handle will be an easy repair. Use stronger wood for handles is all.
