Raw Unpasteurized Shelled Texas Native Pecans, Wild-Harvested and Tested Pesticide-Free Pecan Halves in Oxygen-Barrier Bag for Peak Freshness - 12 Oz

I ordered a 5lb bag back in october 2025, and they were great. I love the Texas native (tiny) pecans. They taste better than the huge pecans, and they seem to not break apart like the big ones do in shipping. I soak these in salt water (with some milk kefir to ferment them) for a few days and then dehydrate them, so the small pecans are beneficial for this because they dry out quicker. All this being said, who knows how long a package has sat in an Amazon warehouse, or if the package got punctured...? Maybe I got lucky but mine were fresh and really good. But some of these recent reviews about rancid / old / etc pecans concerns me. (Note that I used to get pecans from a different company on Amazon but I kept getting rancid, mummified pecans from them starting in 2025, so that is why I switched to this company). Just putting this out there, but you can order these direct from the company (go look for website). There was a big price discount the first time I ordered so I went with amazon, but that has disappeared. If you order direct, you probably will have a much better chance of getting fresh pecans.

Fresh, Taste great, not packaged around things that cause me problems like soy.

These are the best pecans I’ve ever tasted, and I’m a pecan maniac. I also have deep appreciation for finally finding a company that handles a small set of nuts, helping to minimize cross contamination (I’m very allergic to many other nuts). As the seller notes in the description, these are not giant, manufactured pecans. These look and taste the way they should when they come straight from Nature. Delicious!

Maybe I read the advertisement wrong, but I did not expect what I was sent. The pecans were the smallest pecans I have ever seen. I am surprised that Texas would take credit for growing anything that small. The advertisement said the pecans were halves. I would be generous if I said 20% were halves. Not sure what happened to the bag I got but it contained halves to crumbs. On the bright side, the pecans have a good taste.

Very small pecans which is fine for cooking and they are clean... for the most part I have found them to be very fresh but the occasional stale one can ruin a dessert.. Not sure how stale pecans get thrown into a fresh batch but it happens.. Over all, some of the best pecans I have purchased on line.

Very small but taste is good

Pecans were much smaller than expected, I’m okay with that. What I’m not okay with is the amount of broken pecans is a bag of “pecan halves”. I expect some, and will use that small expected amount for breads and in cookies. But if I pay for halves, I expect them to be 85% intact. This is more like 50%.
