Great Kickstand! Sizing Info...
I've bought five of these kickstands over the past couple years for all the bikes in my family and am about to buy two more. This kickstand is a MUST for all bikes! I don't know why bike manufacturers aren't using this design anymore - the ones that come on bikes these days is a joke. I bought my first one for the Specialized comfort bike I purchased for my wife for her birthday. (For $450, you'd think a bike would come with a kickstand, but I digress...) The kick stand worked great and it looked like it was a factory installed part! With that success, I tackled all my kids' bikes, which all have that joke of a two-position kickstand that comes on all Walmart/Target bikes these day. These factory installed disasters are impossible for little feet to actually move without kicking it 7-8 times, and they inherently loosen and fall off the bike after about a year. Wow, what a difference this <$10 upgrade makes!I just now just installed one on my Specialized road bike that I've had for 10 years. For all of you that may be thinking:--"Oh no, I just put 80 grams more weight on my bike, and now I won't be a super-fast biker anymore!", or--"This kickstand will make my bike less aerodynamic, add more drag to my ride, and will make me go 0.00003 mph slower!, or--"If anybody sees me with a kickstand on my super-expensive showy-offy bike, other bikers will laugh at me no matter how cool my Spandex is!"Toughen up, ride harder, and INSTALL THIS KICKSTAND!I can not believe it took me this long to do it myself, but I absolutely love it and wish I would have done it from Day 1. The next one I order is going on my mountain bike. Yes, you heard me correct: I'm installing a kickstand on a MOUNTAIN BIKE! <Gasp!>Now for the sizing (and probably now the most useful part of my review). The other nice thing about these kickstands is that they are made out of aluminum, and if it is too long, you can easily cut it down to size with a hacksaw with relative ease (if you have a metal file, that helps too to soften the cut edges and de-burr it, but it's not necessary). There are even cut lines on the kickstand to help with the cutting at the correct angle. To date, I have installed the following: >305 mm kickstand: Men's Specialized 23" (XL) road bike. This kickstand was way too big. I ended up cutting it down 5 times, removing around 1.75 inches before it was the right size. >305 mm kickstand: Men's Fuji 19" (M) mountain bike. Fits perfectly. >285 mm kickstand: Women's Specialized (M) comfort bike. Had to cut off about 2". Now fits perfectly. >285 mm kickstand: Women's Diamondback (M) comfort bike. Fits perfectly. (Same size frame as above, but frame is higher off the ground) >285 mm kickstand: Teenager 14.5" mountain bike. Fits perfectlyIn summary, if the base of your bike of the bottom kickstand plate will be mounted is less than 10.75", then the 285 mm should work out fine. If it is higher than that, then I'd go for the 305 mm.One other thing to note: some bikes have rear derailleur or brake cables running near where this is mounted - sometimes there can be an interference with the kickstand (see my second uploaded photo). This hasn't been an issue yet, but where there is an interference, the rubbing may wear down the cable over time - we'll have to see. Last, some reviewers have mentioned that theirs came with rubber boots - none of mine have (nor do I want them).

Great product! Get the retail packaging if you want the rubber foot. (helpful for parking on grass)
Works great! This bolted on just as expected. The action is smooth and satisfying. This product is simply manufactured the casting is a little sloppy, but there's something very satisfying about the way it works and sturdy feel. I really want to put one on my own bike now!I was putting it onto a 16 inch kids bike, so I had to cut it down to the right size. I was conservative with the cuts, and took a couple of tries to get it short enough. There are a few suggestions here about putting blocks under the bike until it sits right and then cutting off a length equal to the height of the blocks. I didn't do that, but it still worked fine.Notes: I bought the "retail package" version. This came with the rubber foot, as well as two bolts - one for use when installing on a bike that has a mounting plate designed for a kickstand, and another, longer bolt for installing on bikes which require clamping to the frame. I used the latter and it worked great. The rubber foot is definitely desirable if you plan to park the bike on grass. The metal rod is thin enough to punch into soft dirt and grass, allowing heavier bikes to tip over.Overall, this is a great addition to any bike. Even if you're a gram-counting, spandex-wearing bike snob, you should consider this. The extra ounces won't slow you down any more than last night's salmon and kale salad, and the convenience of a kickstand is great. And if you ever make it into the Tour de France, you can unbolt it and pick up an extra tenth of a second from the weight savings.

You just can't beat a Greenfield kickstand at any price point
Not much to say really.Kickstands are hardly ever included in higher-end bikes. In fact, if you see one on a bike it's a sure sign it's a cheaper made bike. So it's no surprise that even on kids bikes, they're often not included....like my kid's Cleary. My kid wanted one because all his friends with Dynacrafts and Huffy's had one. Geezus he's got a Cleary with helluva components, Sturmey Archer internal geared hub so no derailleur to deal with and a robust steel frame that's lighter than all his friends Magna's, Giants, Treks and junk...and the kickstand is what does it for him?Alright. So I got one for him in black to match his black and matte dark blue-colored bike. Damn those kickstands are actually nice! And really easy to cut to size! So I got one for my other kid and my wife and they all love it. Wouldn't you know it, my kid still puts his bike down on the ground anyway instead of using the kickstand! I guess he just wants it...just-in-case? I still don't have one, because I still think it cool to just lay my MTB down on the ground when not in use; it's a mountain bike it's meant to be one with the dirt Besides, it adds weight too, right? Actually for me, it gets in the way when I need a quick change of wheels or on bikes where the cable for the derailleur is right where that kickstand needs to be at and I find kickstands have a nasty habit of collecting tall shrubs you find in narrow trails.

Made in USA, awesome quality, easy to install, perfect functionality
I got the 285mm version for a Raleigh comfort bike with 27.5" wheels. As a side note, a mid-priced comfort bike should come with a kickstand already. Placing an order for a simple inexpensive component, I did not expect much, but was I surprised when I finally got my hands on this kickstand. As soon as you pick it up you know this is a quality piece that may very well outlast the bike it's going on. I had to trim 20mm, which was made super easy by guide marks spaced 5mm apart. After two minutes with a hacksaw to cut, and a file to smooth out the edges, it went on the bike. I did not need the top plate and ended up replacing the bolt it came with. The original hardware would've worked just fine, but I had a shorter and much lighter aluminum bolt left over from a recent car repair (starter bolt from E9x BMW) laying around so threw it on.The kickstand keeps the bike stable and is easy to operate.

Nice Kick Stand
This is a good quality kick stand I don't- just check that there’s room for it to be mounted on your bike, without interfering with cables. If so, then it will go straight on w fineithout any fiddling about. Recommend anymor.

Very unique bike accessorie!
This support sometime has to be custom placed or you wil have to do some extra work to fit to your bike. Some bikes don’t have large enough space for this part.Regardless it is great purchase because it is solid, strong, inexpensive, resistant to hitting and other troubles. You may need to fix the hight after installation as well.Once installed it’s invisible.

Quedo Perfecta.

Best kickstand out there
Easy to install, sturdy and light. This is all I will use anymore.

Ne convient pas à tous les vélos.
La vis fournie n'était pas assez longue pour mon modèle de vélo. Il n'y a pas d'embout de plastique ou de caoutchouc pour le bout de la béquille qui touche au sol.
