It zaps real good!!! Not loud, it does have a spark and you can control the zap depending on the batteries.

I bought this to stimulate acupuncture points. It can also just be used for adult play. To me there is just a slght pain, just a little shock that is surprising, like a taser on 1% power. Just don't use it on sensitive body part areas, that might hurt. There can be a small audible snapping sound, depending on how you use it. The instructions are sort of poor but the device is easy enough to figure out. If it was much smaller and not shaped like a sex toy, I would easily give this a 5 stars.

I have owned 3 of these and they all worked fine. This one, however, does not. I just received it. I put fresh batteries in and went to test it and no zap. I figured it must be defective so I wanted to return it for a replacement but nope, no can do. Very frustrating.

When this item has new batteries in it , it is wonderful! However, if you store for any length of time (one week) the batteries drain each and everytime. I would recommend using it and then removing the batteries - its simple, just unscrew the bottom so it is not connected. Then when you want to use it you have a better change of it working without replacing the batteries.
