Great Quality and Detail for the Price
For around $25 dollars this model offers pretty good detail and quality. Just don't expect it to have every detail painted or molded like a hand assembled Tamiya model.

Great little model for the price
A neat 1/1000th model of the famous battleship - the only problem was the top of the funnel was cast strangely - had to cut off the tab that inserted into the funnel - used an exacto knife - and then glued it back on - simple. why they let it out of the shop with the funnel top hanging over the front edge is beyond me - but as I mentioned above - very easy to fix. I have several models of this ship in other scales - but this is a great little model for the price and it comes with it's own display stand - recommend getting a case for it - nothing destroys a model like dust.

Limited details and imperfect construction, but passable for a 1:1000 scale
Diecast body with plastic superstructure and guns. Although some details are pretty good, the smaller guns are lacking actual barrels and are just sort of molded in a shape that suggests there might be barrels there. A piece at the very top of the bridge section is loose and wobbles more than a bit, although it doesn't seem ready to come off. I will probably try to glue it down, if I can get it to sit straight. The 4 screws, however, look quite good and realistic.Oddly, the Japanese flag on the stern points forward, as if the ship was driving backwards. The ship bottom seems strangely flat aft of the bow, although I'm not certain that the real ship didn't have that same bottom. It is marred somewhat by the 4 slots that receive the tabs of the stand. As advertised, this does appear to be the late configuration of Yamato, with the vastly upgraded anti-air armament.
