Q: The lidded Avito tumblers have an obnoxious-looking lip inside, presumably to stop the lids from falling into them. Do these have a similar feature?

There is a small ledge to keep the lid in place but it isn't obnoxious

Q: Are the lids dishwasher safe?

I would think they could be, as long as you keep them in the top section. I returned my glasses, as two of my four had blemishes near the mouth of the glass, that I was afraid would rust. We ordered these for use at a beach condo, that does not have a dishwasher, so again, I am only GUESSING that they would be safe in the top section.
