My Brilliant, Resilient Mind: How to Ditch Negative Thinking and Handle Hard Things Better (Capable Kiddos) Review: Must have for therapist. - Great read if you know a child who has trauma. Review: Excellent Children’s Book Promoting Emotional Awareness - My Brilliant, Resilient Mind is a fantastic, kid-friendly book that explains negative thinking patterns in a way children can easily understand and relate to. I love how it not only helps kids recognize when they’re stuck in unhelpful thoughts but also gives simple, practical strategies for overcoming them. I’ve read it several times with my 9- and 12-year-old, and we often use its ideas to reflect and reset when I notice them caught in negative thinking. Highly recommended for families looking to build resilience and emotional awareness together!

Great explanation for positive mindsets
This book is great. Pretty intense concept for littles. But explained it in a really simple way. Reframing thoughts is hard for even adults! I wish I’d had this book years ago! This whole set is great!

A Great Series!
The Capable Kiddos series teaches many important life lessons in clear (and entertaining) ways for young and adult readers. MY BRILLIANT, RESILIENT MIND is the third book in the series (but each book is a stand-alone too). I love how it encourages children to 'think about thinking'. The illustrations by Katie Dwyer are always so creative and communicate emotions so well. The story follows twins who are stuck in their thoughts and by seeing their choices creating shifts, we learn to shift our own thinking. Plus, there's excellent back matter. Once again, you can tell that this story is written by a professional therapist sharing her expertise in such a relatable, comprehensible way.

Another Great Book!
Christina Furnival has touched so many families with her three books in the Capable Kiddos series. These books help kids build up their skills to deal with bullies (My Not So Friendly Friend); fear (Fear Not!); and negative thoughts (My brilliant, Resilient Mind). Her books are educational and entertaining and are perfect for both home and school. As a certified mental health therapist and a mother of three, Christina is passionate about helping families. As a fellow author, I highly recommend her books!

We bought this wonderful book, as we did with the earlier books in this super series, as a gift for our friends with young children. They have not only loved them as a reader but they have taken a lot of learning from the core messages. These are best read together with an adult so that the core learning concepts can be explored and discussed.
