Powerful, Easy-to-Use OBD2 Scanner for DIYers
The LAUNCH CReader Elite V2.0 is an excellent scan tool for anyone who works on their own vehicles. It does far more than basic code reading, with clear live data, service resets, and system scans that are easy to navigate. The screen is bright and responsive, menus are intuitive, and the tool feels solid in hand. I really like how quickly it connects and pulls codes, and the explanations make it approachable even if you’re not a professional technician. This is a great choice for DIYers, hobbyists, or anyone who wants more insight into their vehicle without stepping up to a full professional scan tool. Lots of capability in a compact, easy-to-use package. Highly recommended.

Features do not work as advertised and no support from the seller
I wanted to love this scanner. For the price it lists many advanced features including wifi connectivity, free updates, and touch screen. I primarily needed the option to register / regulate a new battery for my 2019 VW Atlas. However, after connecting to my wireless network, downloading and applying all software updates, the tool immediately wants to go into a full scan before accessing other diagnostics. It did auto-detect my VIN which was cool, but I could not find simple option to go directly to a diag menu for desired function without first completing an exhaustive scan to read and report codes. This happened each time so very time consuming. When I finally hit the page to register the battery, it only errors out saying it cannot connect to the ECU. I tried many different options and variations to ensure all the steps were followed per online manual as well as screen instructions on scanner including checking connections, process sequence, etc. and each time having to go thru laborious scan process. I also tried suggestion to reset scanner and start from scratch (including very lengthy software update process) and also tried scanner's firmware fix. Nothing worked. I then tried some other functions to see if issue was only with battery registration but those other functions also failed with similar ECU error. Tried contacting the company via the tool itself (has neat option to send support request via scanner and wifi) and also the Manufacturer contact number listed by Amazon in the order. I did get a response from a support person who a few days later said that another company sells this particular unit and I will have to go back to Amazon for support. In summary, the tool looks to have great potential, but DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED and the company selling this on Amazon offers no support for this item. Maybe if you buy it from another source or directly from Launch, then you may get support but still question if it can do what it claims for my vehicle. I will need to find a different tool like Ancel VD700 which provides battery registration but does not require an annual subscription. I only need the tool once in a while but expect it to work when needed. I bought the Ancel VD500 from Amazon about a year ago to change my rear brakes (EPB feature). However, this model does not include battery registration. The Ancel interface is more cryptic and limited features for the money, but it did do the job as described to perform specific VW functions.

Powerful scan tool
I am comparing this device to VCDS by rosstech, I am a huge fan of VCDS and how powerful of a toll it is. This scanner is basically an all in one package that can replace VCDS especially if you don't have a PC to run the VCDS software. Another advantage over VCDS is that you are not limited on the number of cars you can scan with it at this low price point. yes VCDS has an unlimited package but it is much more expensive. This little scanner is very capable and can do the most requested of tests battery coding and cam phase to check your timing chain for stretch. I am very happy with this tool and plan on using it frequently in the future. only a few downsides to note. the screen is small and can make things hard to read occasionally and the live data stream select menu could have a search function under the engine menu it has 414 live data stream options and finding the 1 you want "cam phase adjustment" took way to long. Small update and added some camparison pictures. I did the same scan back to back with Launch and vcds and the lunch actually missed 1 code that vcds did pick up. Overall with my experiance the launch tool is a very good and handy scanner for quick on the go and unlimited vehicles. It has a few downsides. Not as much data is given with the lunch scanner vs vcds which can be good or bad. It does take a lot longer to navigate the menus to get what you want. But small price to pay for having a conpact system vs lugging a computer with you everywhere you go. And a search function for the live data diaplay would be a great update such as the cam phase adaptation took me 10 seconds to find and display vs launch took me nearly 5 minutes of scrolling to find it in the menu.

Launch does it again. They just keep making great tools.
I recently purchased the Launch VW and Audi automotive scanner, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. As a car enthusiast who loves working on VW and Audi vehicles, this scanner has been a game-changer for me. The scanner's compatibility with VW and Audi makes it incredibly versatile, allowing me to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of issues with ease. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, even for someone like me who is not a professional mechanic. One feature that stands out to me is the live data stream capabilities, which provide real-time information about the vehicle's systems and sensors. This has been invaluable in pinpointing problems quickly and accurately. Additionally, the scanner's bi-directional control functionality allows me to actuate various components in the vehicle, making it easier to test different systems and perform repairs efficiently. Overall, the Launch VW and Audi automotive scanner has exceeded my expectations and is a valuable tool in my garage. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or a professional mechanic, I highly recommend this scanner for anyone working on VW and Audi vehicles."
