BIANCHI 23174: Open Top Mag Pouch Tan Sz 1

Pros: Well made product, looks great.Cons: no matter where I put it on my waist it digs into my pelvis and chafes my skin while my full size 1911 IWB holster does not even feel like it's there.The snap is too cumbersome to snap it right...it takes several tries before it finally seats correctly.....I don't like that.A full size 1911 mag does not stick up high enough to grab without wiggling it back and forth to get a good grip on it so it needs a small wooden block in the bottom to modify the height.....no big deal really on that account.Would be nice if it came with black as a color option.Really it is so uncomfortable I doubt I will be wearing it much as it just digs in no matter where I put it because I am a very active person.I may do better with a pancake style IWB mag pouch but the bulk of such a thing is ridiculous but I will keep messing with this in different positions to see if I can find a happy spot.I'm a size 36 waist, fairly lean with no spare tire and I don't care to wear this at the small of the back area.

High quality leather material, and high quality workmanship. The pouch is a tad long for 1911 mags (8-rd) making getting a purchase on the magazine slightly more difficult then it should be. Fine for the range but for carry I stuffed some paper towel material into the pouch until the mag was raised up out of the pouch so that I could "grab" the mag out of the pouch in an authoritarian manner. This is a leather pouch so no tensioning device, but the tightness of the pouch on 1911 mags is perfect. The snap work's different then you might expect but I like the design and their is a little instruction sheet that comes with the pouch so you can snap the pouch properly. Leather anything concerning guns is expensive, but I prefer leather to kydex.

Great little mag holder. I use it for a single stack 9mm Sig Sauer p239 magazine. This product hides the mag well and is comfortable. I would recommend this product. The only issue that may arise is magazine changes. Not to be Captain Obvious, but the way this product carries the magazine inside the waistband, it can be a little harder to change magazines. The remedy to this issue is simply training.

Holds magazines firmly. However, retrieving a magazine under stress may prove difficult. From my experience, the magazine is held almost too tightly since it's inside the waistline. After wearing it all day, sitting, standing, driving, etc., I ended up with a sore spot on my side. I'm thinking of modifying it, adding an outside belt loop and removing the snap loop. The only practical way of getting this on is by pulling your belt off, the snap is near impossible to engage on the belt. Taking it off is easy though.

I was under the impression that this mag pouch would be great to help conceal a magazine, being a high top design. I was disappointed when I received it and only the side shown in the picture is finished, the other side is rough leather. It seems to me to be made for wear inside the belt. I use it like that now and still like it, but not for what I made the purchase for.

Extremely tight fit on the mag at first. Had a hard time getting the mag back out. Seems to be a good quality leather. To loosen it up, I simply wrapped the mag in plastic wrap and then lather it in leather conditioner and insert the mag. Same process I used for the Bianchi leather holster (read my review on that one). Practice drawing and inserting the mag into the holster to loosen it up after you have done the conditioner process. You will also get some good reps in for your mag drawing technique. Just work it, work it, work it and you will love it!

Received the Bianchi magazine pouch today. Like most Bianchi products, it's high quality leather with heavy duty stiching. It's police quality leather. There's no doubt this will last many years, if not many decades. It is an "inside the waistband" pouch which snaps around the belt. "1911" .45 caliber single-stack magazines such as Wilson Combat mags work fine with it, but thicker .45 caliber double-stack magazines will probably not fit. Nor will Beretta 92 mags fit (I tried one, way too tight), or those that are of similar dimensions. I am very pleased with the quality of this product and can highly recommend it.

Great magazine pouch that simply disappears into your waist line. The design is well thought out and the construction is top-notch. I personally love the heightened leather tab that rises all the way to the magazine base plate, ensuring that the magazine never comes into contact with your skin. So when cold, you wont have frigid metal touching your waist, and when hot, you wont be sweating on and corroding your expensive mags. It is designed to be worn inside the waistband and hold a single-stack magazine. It does just that. Nothing more, nothing less.
