Just Throw it Inside (No Need To Load The Soap Compartment).* Sometimes The Gel Pac Won't Fully Dissolve If Placed In The Compartment.* I Toss, Wash, Enjoy.* I Have Well Water Which Has Consistently Left Residue On My Dishes. We gave a whole house water conditioner so we didn’t need the “water softener” component found in many dishwasher detergent gel packs. These just wash the dishes and do it well. No residue. No weird smell. Just dishwasher detergent mixed with our conditioned water. I am also glad they come sealed inside a plastic bag inside a cardboard container-easily recycled. No hard-to-recycle plastic bottle or tub.

Aah! The gel packs. I moved off granular soap and on to gel-pacs at the recommendation of a friend who was an appliance man. The problem was how cloudy my dishes and glassware looked when I took them out of the dishwasher. He suggested I toss a Gelpac in the bottom of the dishwasher (not in the soap drawer) and see how the dishes come out. Wella! They came out clean looking just the way I'd hoped. Finish Gelpac is what I always use in my dishwasher.

These work great and this is the best price I’ve seen. They can leave a slimy residue on the dishes though but I suspect that could be due to cycle type (length of cleaning cycle, hot start wash, etc.) Decent scent, not overwhelmingly “cleaning product” smell.

I have been using these Finish orange gelpacs exclusively for many years now, and they are the only dishwasher tabs/pacs that I will use.I have never had any issue after all these years with incomplete rinsing of the actual detergent, nor have I had any complaints about how well they clean. My personal experience with some of the powder/solid tabs has not been a very good one, which is the reason I ended up using these orange gelpacs in the first place. They just work well, without any problems at all - and I stick with what works.

They smell good, remove the dirt and don’t leave the ugly and icky water stains after the wash!

I use these Gelpacs in my dishwasher and they work great!! My dishes come out clean and sanitized. I used to use the compact powder kind until it clogged my pipe. My husband had to use a long wire what is called a snake and push it through the pipe to dislodge what was blocking it. Out come balls of mushy powder. Mushy on the outside packed powder on the inside and that was what was clogging our pipe. It forms several hard balls that stay lodged in the pipe. I no longer use dry powder laundry detergent as it also causes clogged pipes over time. These gel pacs work the best along with Finish Jet-Dry rinse aid.

If you're the sort of person that rinses off your dishes and loads them straight into the dishwasher as you use them, this will work great. I have found that it seems to struggle a bit with getting pots and pans clean. Apparently, there are different levels of "clean" that finish products provide, and this isn't at the top. Then again, the price on these is difficult to beat.Pros: Great for dishes and silverware. The smell is pure awesome!Cons: Will struggle to clean dried-on/cooked-on food.
