Used for garden benches.
Although it says for interior use on the tin, I used it outside on three garden benches with very good results. The benches are quite old so I power-washed them first to get the algae / other crud off. As suggested on the tin, the first coat was 60/40 dilution with white spirits. The first coat smells for days - I did mine out in the garden and I could smell it from 20 yards. Subsequent (undiluted) coats don't seem to smell as much.I did three benches - top, bottom and edges of all slats. One coat diluted and two coats undiluted. I applied with an old t-shirt. I used a fraction under 1 litre to do this (two tins). The wood has gone from a light brown before treatment to a rich red-brown colour,

Lovely Finish
Because this oil is suitable for food use it makes a great alternative to linseed when finishing spoons and kuksa. It goes on easily dries pretty quickly and brings out the grain of the wood beautifully. The finish in my opinion is quite outstanding. I've used it so far on beech, birch and rowan. The rowan was spectacular and it surely must be the most underrated of woods. I am moving on to bowl carving next and Tung Oil will be my choice of finish. I am told it mixes well with Lemon Oil so I will probably give that a try as well. This Tung Oil is relatively inexpensive, easy to use and I cannot rate it highly enough.

Good project
Good product but use as advised. Found it darker than anticipated and took longer to dry but is wearing well after a few months use

Love this stuff, really brings out the grain and no additives
Made some shelves from Scaffold Boards, stained them and finished them off with this oil. Read a lot of info about which oils to seal wood with and Tung oil came off best (but has to be pure). It soaks in well. Did two coats with day in-between and wiped excess off after it had enough time to saturate the wood. Really looks good, not sticky or greasy to touch, once you have given it a good wipe down and it brings out all the different colourations of the wood grain. No unpleasant smell and I'm sure it's better for the wood without drying-acceleration chemicals added. Just have to be patient.

A good quality and easy to apply oil.
Really impressed by this tung oil. Used it with a cloth to protect our wooden kitchen table that I sanded back. It's easy to apply, doesn't have a strong smell and absorbs pretty quickly. Left it a few hours between coats and then overnight before using. The oil was so good we used it on our wooden chopping boards and even to protect our garden shears.

Brilliant product
I hadn’t heard of tung oil until I researched the best oil for sapele wood for a garden bench and many people recommended it so I bought this tin and the wood has come up amazingly, lovely colours, highlighted grain and dead easy to apply with a brush. I thinned the first coat and then subsequent coats were pure tung oil. It looks great can’t yet comment on durability as the bench hasn’t gone outside yet but I’m optimistic. It brought up some redwood cedar and some teak beautifully too.

Amazing!
Great product - finished on solid oak worktops for the kitchen, and they look sublime. Superb product, trust me, you will not be disappointed. I have used Danish Oil previously on oak worktops and this blows the finish out of the water. get this, forget anything else you think you might of wanted to use.

Perfect product to enhance wood grain
Bought this to add protection to a bamboo work top, it states 4 coats to add sufficient protection. It's a bit of a laborious task as you need to add the oil, wait 20 minutes to buff it off, then leave for 24hrs before reapplying another coat. However it does highlight the grain of the wood. I found the first application did darken the colour of the worktop but subsequent coats only marginally if at all. I used a washing up Sponge to apply the oil which applied an even coat without the need to pour it directly onto the wood. The oil is touch dry within 24 hours. After 4 coats I can confirm good water repellency.
