she did it again
Another 5 star review for another 5 star book. The slow burn, forbidden romance in this one just makes you ache and need more. These characters have way more patience than I ever could. Could not put this book down. Absolutely LOVED.

A great best friend's brother trope!
This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune4 starsSpice: 🔥🔥 /5The sexual tension and back and forth between Felix and Lucy kept me turning the pages. I am a glutton for punishment because I am all for the angst. This Summer Will be Different is a best friend’s brother trope. It delivers on all the aspects of a best friend’s brother trope but even better. The chemistry these two shared was burning off the pages.Speaking of burning, I feel like this was Carley Fortune’s spiciest book I have read thus far. Which I was most definitely not mad about. I LOVED FELIX so much. He was so witty and swoon-worthy. Handsome and hard working. He wasn’t afraid to use his words. I mean, what more we could ask for?Lucy was a little wishy washy. I liked her enough, but sometimes, I felt like Lucy was in love with Bridget. I know they were best friends but some of the statements felt like it could be more than friendship – but I think she was just really trying to get the point across how she felt she had to hide her feelings for Felix because she did not want to hurt Bridget. There is a backstory about why Bridget would be so against her best friend and brother, but I don’t want to give too much away.Of course, Carley Fortune did a fabulous job at creating her setting as one of the characters. It’s her ‘thing’ now. I do want to visit all the places she writes about. I am a fan of her writing – it has depth to it, great dialogue, and plots with meat to the bones (for the most part).#avidreaderbookblog #readingislife #bookblogger #bookbloggers #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #books #romance #romancebookstagram #romancebookblogger #romancebookstagrammer #bestfriendsbrother #bestfriendsbrotherromance #carleyfortune #carleyfortunebooks #carleyfortunebook #carleyfortuneauthor

Absolutely loved! My favorite so far by this author!
I loved this book! While reading it gave me all the feels, the heart dropping angst, the fluttering of butterflies in my stomach, the giddy feeling with a big, dopey smile going across my face. Everything I need and require to make a romance a 5 star read for me!I'm going to be honest here. I went in with a bit of trepidation when I picked this book up, because although I liked Every Summer After. Fortune's second book, Meet Me at The Lake, was just okay for me, so I didn't really know where this one was going to fall. I can easily say this one is my favorite by Fortune yet! It was perfect. Everything I wanted and then some!I fell in love with the characters. I loved the female protagonist, Lucy, her love for flowers, running her own flower shop, and her dream of one day having her own cut flower farm. If I hadn't been so stressed out the last two weeks with my lack of success of my very own Floret Farm flower seeds that I direct sowed in my garden, I'd probably love the fact of how much Erin and her Floret Flower Farm was mentioned in this book. But that is an entire different matter. 😅Then we get Felix. He was amazing. He was everything you'd want the male main character to be and more. I loved how this book started out. My jaw literally hit the floor, and then with the back and forth timeline of then and now really build this story up for me.And lastly, the setting. Oh my gosh. The setting. 😍 I had never even heard of Prince Edward Island (I had to look it up on the map), but Fortune's writing and the descriptions of this place makes me want to visit right away. It had me craving oysters and wanting that laid back, small town ocean vibe asap! This book would obviously be perfect by the water while you are enjoying your own vacation, but with the way Fortune writes about PEI, the food and drinks, etc, you could easily escape to this place straight on your couch at home. And really that's just what we all are looking for when we pick up a book, right?I am really shocked the two romance books that released this spring and that I haven't expected much out of are so far some of my favorite reads this year, and for me that is a lesson to never write off an author or think you they can't give you something that you will absolutely love!

A Mixed Review
There were many ups and downs as I read this book! I loved the concept and I love a good flash back, but the “big secret” was extremely disappointing!! I removed a whole star for how let down I was!! Also the main characters sleep together waaaaay too often! I started rolling my eyes every time “he kissed my 3 moles” or “he got that mischievous look in his eyes”.The book was written really well because it kept you wanting more. You want to know “what happened last summer” and you want to know if the two main characters end up together. I also enjoy a story about two strong women who are best friends - this book delivers that to you nicely!I’d recommend this book to someone who wants a nice fluff read to fly through! It would be great to read on vacation!

Fun Read, Great Proofreading
It was fun to read a book in two totally different settings than I am used to. Prince Edward Island really came alive for me. All the characters had such strong family bonds they were real to me. Especially the deceased Aunt, who somehow came alive in the telling. I will read more by this author.
