Great book. Enjoyable
This author has never disappointed me. I have read most of his books. This is no exception. It's well written and just brilliant for a Jackie fan like myself. Very glad he wrote it. Got kindle and audio book I liked it so much. Highly recommended for her fans.

Very interesting book
I was born in 1965 and even though I'm British, always felt a little of the Kennedy Mystique. I became intrigued as I grew older and have read many books by various authors about JFK, Jackie and the other Kennedys. I realised quite early on that they weren't nice people, but interesting ones. This book reinforced the opinions I formed about Jackie when I first started reading about her. She does very much appear to have had at least three distinct lives/personas. I think her son hit the nail on the head when he said albeit in anger, that she was the most materialistic person he knew. She was very selfish as well as having some other pretty unpleasant personality traits too, but this book more than some others I've read helps the reader understand why. Her manipulative bully of a mother obviously played a big role in it. Dallas must have been truly horriffic and I'm not sure how anyone could ever get over that, and not let it mould your personality afterwards. I found it monstrous that Jackie made the Nanny break the news of their father's death to Caroline and John, and that Janet reinforced the decision. But it sounds like they may have been more fond of Maud Shaw than their own mother, so perhaps it was best. There are characters I had never come across before, Janet's third husband for example and Ari's sisters, who were all interesting. It was a good read, and the writing style as always makes it an easy one. Jackie Kennedy Onassis was not a nice person, and it really was all about her, always, but this book fills in some gaps and helps you understand why she was the way she was, damaged goods.

FASCINATING BOOK!
What a fascinating book! It shows a side of Jackie the public would never know. Her strength, the losses in her life from her miscarriages, her son and her husband in such a horrific way. She showed the world one Jackie but in person she grieved in private. The dynamic and jealousy between she and her sister. Her domineering Mother was at times physically and verbally abusive. She ruled with an iron had. Jackie's stepfather, Hugh played a major role in her life but she idolized "Black Jack" and he her. Her marriage to Ari was strictly a financial arrangement and a deal brokered by Ted Kennedy. Her genuine love for Joe Kennedy. This book will leave you knowing a side of Jackie you never could have imagined. Well written and straight forward.

Jackie. Public, Private, Secret by J. Randy Taraborrelli
Another great book about Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis!! I’ve always been fascinated by Jackie Kennedy and can’t read enough about her. I think I have devoured every book out there on her. But most importantly by my absolute favourite biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli. I have every book he’s ever written. He’s written about such icons from Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna,Beyoncé, The Hiltons, The Bushes. But most important the 5 Kennedy books. When you’ve read 1 Kennedy book you think what could be so different in the next book. Mr Taraborrelli never seems to repeat himself from book to book there’s always something new and uncovered in the story of this iconic family. He keeps it always new and fresh, and his storytelling quality has you right there in Hyannis Port, The White House, on Onassis yacht or the streets of New York. With his new #1 seller (I’m sure it will be) JackiePublic, Private, Secret he lets us further inside her extraordinary world. Uncovering different aspects of her life the Public, the Private, the secret. Just started reading it and like any Taraborrelli book I can’t put it down.I recommend all 5 of the Kennedy books!!!Plus read further and look for J. Randy Taraborrelli books most are here on Amazon…Once again Randy thanks for another great read…Canadian Boy obsessed with Jackie Kennedy.

Beautiful cover and crazy time jumps
What a disappointment, and it starts with the strangely disjointed presentation of the chapters. After "Jackie's early days" (about childhood), for example, it continues with "Joe's Stroke", only to write in the next chapter about the episode when Jackie loses her baby in 1956 while JFK is on tour with his boys. These leaps in time are very irritating. And the short chapters itselfs? Nothing new there. There are fascinating biographies about JKO I read several times, but this is definitely not one of them.

A page turner about a very famous First Lady and more.
I got this book as I wanted a Washington book, some old history. The book is a great character study on Jackie but also her sister and every one around her. It is insightful and deep which made me glad I purchased it, it is not a overview. I will purchase biographies from the author again! He had a Michael jackson bio, A Marilyn one and a Frank Sinatra one, he interviews and also looks at library collections of personal papers and records. Good work.

Jackie: Public, Private, Secret
Once again J. Randy Taraborrelli has written an exceptional bio. Jackie: Public, Private, Secret is a heartfelt, interesting and informative read. In this book Jackie Kennedy Onassis is stripped down, if you will. It tells her life story, in my opinion, not in accordance with the Kennedy men, Kennedy sisters-in-law, her mother and sister and the Kennedy heirs. I felt like it was Jackie telling her story about her life. I got more insight into who Jackie Bouvier was instead of Jackie Kennedy or Jackie Kennedy Onassis. As with every one of J. Randy Taraborrelli's books, I felt like I was along for the ride. I was right there beside Jackie experiencing every detail and emotion of her life with her. I have read every book he has written and they are all equally fantastic reads. I highly recommend reading Jackie, Ethel, Joan - Women of Camelot, After Camelot: Personal History of the Kennedy family, Jackie, Janet & Lee: The Secret Lives of Janet Auchincloss and Her Daughters and The Kennedy Heirs: John, Caroline and the New Generation - A Legacy of Triumph and Tragedy, if you are interested in the Kennedy empire. J. Randy is my favourite bio author of all time. All of his books are well worth reading.
