Q: Trying to decide between a stainless steel or plastic scoop to leave in my freezer's ice bin. Will stainless handle be too cold? Will plastic break?

I know this is billrd as an ice scoop, but it's a little too narrow for that purpose. I don't think you'll run into any problems with plastic, but this scoop on particular is not very good for ice.

Q: Can this scoop be put in the dishwasher?

I use mine for scooping ice for drinks so I only rinse it. It seems sturdy enough for the top rack of a dishwasher but I would be concerned of scratching and losing it’s clear finish over time.
