A TRIP TO THE PAST
My wife and me decide to give this item a go... I think we will neve regrets it... Now we have a chance to go back in time, to a time when we were young and mostly happy, and feel as if we were in a movie theatre all over again... And it take us less than fifteen minutes. It takes us that long because we love popcorn so much that we need a round each (full capacity of the popcorn machine) and this machine needs to rest from seven to eight minutes between first and second round. We are really happy with this machine. We very well may buy another one so we won't have to wait. No need to wash it, just the clear parts need it, it doesn't keep or expels odors of any kind and it's compact enough to easily storage it away... It surely helps to keep tentation at bay.

Poor exit design, very messy & Died 2½ months after purchase & Replacement process ridiculous
As well as the issues below it died 2½ months after purchase. Submitted RMA/Replacement form on West Bend Website. Got a response same day and provided additional required info and pix. The results came the next day. Provide all the information again, proof (pix) that the power cord has been cut, then they would process the replacement. And, an additional cost of $14.95 (+ tax) shipping & Handling. After all that it would take an additional 5-7 days to ship the device. Warranty not worth the headache. I had a predecessor model for 5 years that is no longer available. I did some shopping around and this one was really close to what I had. When I got this unit, I immediately tried it out. What a freaking mess!!! There are always a bunch of kernels that come out before the popcorn starts popping and it throws the popcorn out all over the place. It appears that this device is designed for a large square popcorn receptacle that fits just under the lip. Any round bowl, regardless how big, the kernels fly all over the place. I created a formed extension out of cardboard, for the end of the exit area that extends out about 4" past the end of the cover. That seems to do the trick keeping the popped kernels from flying out and to the sides. Looks stupid, but does the trick reducing the mess. For the un-popped kernels, I placed a 3" x ½" square block under the front feet of the unit, tilting it back just enough to keep the kernels from flying out before popping. You don't want to tilt it back too far. Some kernels are flung out as the popcorn is popping, but there are much less wasted kernels at the bottom of the popcorn bowl. Although it is a good product, it needs some serious redesigning. Maybe a slightly narrower exit shoot, and adjustable front feet for slightly elevating it to keep the kernels from flying out.

Crazy popper
Everything works as expected. Like the the cord stores in the case. But, wow. The popped corn goes everywhere when discharging to the bowl.

Not a good popper!
I returned this popcorn maker after using it twice. Even with a big bowl underneath, it still shot popcorn everywhere! Also only about half of the amount of kernels put in actually popped.

OK for a while, but does not work for long
The West Bend Air Crazy Popcorn Machine worked fine for 6 months (about 12 uses), then it started burning (actually smoking) instead of popping the kernels.

Awesome product
This thing pops popcorn extremely fast. I purchased this item to take with on fishing trips. You'll be amazed at how quickly it heats up and the popcorn pops.

I've owned air poppers before and traditionally they are designed that the air vents are on the side making the popcorn swirl around. That's why I was skeptical as this one has one single air vent on the bottom. I can see how people were frustrated with that as it does throw the popcorn in the air. But with all air poppers you're supposed to put a ladle or slotted spoon over the opening anyway even with the swirl around designed poppers. This machine works flawlessly. It's a good unit. I grew glass gem popcorn in my garden this year and they popped with no issue!

This is garbage. Tired to use it for the first time and it burnt all the kernels and turned none of them into popcorn. It filled the room with smoke. I turned it off in fear of it catching on fire. Then it wouldn't turn on again.
