I thought I’d love this mat - supposed to be non skid and meant less cleaning up of baby’s food mess. The non skid is sort of true if you have a chair on it. But if you plan to use it for art or sensory bins on the floor it’s not enough in my opinion. I did check the size before ordering and thought it would be big enough. But it isn’t big enough to reduce much mess for me. On our first attempt using it this afternoon for baby’s lunch, most of the food got tossed past this mat. I’m adding pictures to show how it doesn’t extend too far past the high chair. Maybe our high chair is big but it’s a standard Graco and I imagine many other people have that too. For $50 I was expecting a LOT more.

Splat Mats are a necessity, especially for those do baby-led weaning, as meal time can be very messy. At first, I was hesitant to spend so much on a splat mat when there are so many others on the market that are considerably cheaper. But after reading the reviews here and on other mommy blogs, I decided to give it a go. I am so glad I purchased one from Sugarbooger. Their mats are so much more substantial and are not at all flimsy. Clean up is a breeze. We also use these for our daughter's creative time: think a 1.5-year-old with crayons of all colors. It has definitely helped to save our floors and my beloved rug. The splat mat also comes in a pouch for easy storage and transport.

I winced at the price but it is so worth it. I bought this intending to use it under my baby's high hair, but it's been so invaluable everywhere else that it hasn't made it to the dining room yet...I'm going to have to buy another one for the high hair. My baby has open eczema rashes on his face and feet, and when on the carpet he uses the carpet to rub against to scratch his itchies... and ends up with carpet fibers in his sores. :( I've tried other play mats and picnic blankets, but either they aren't easily washable or are washable but get dragged around as he plays. This mat is heavy enough that he can crawl and roll on it without it moving, and it is so easy to clean - just wet wipes or a few sprays of Branch Basics. I've used it as a play mat and a picnic mat - spilled water rolls right off. I love the matching travel pouch it comes in - we are taking this with us to my mother-in-law's as well as on vacation for hotel rooms and parks.

Absolutely wonderful product. Very durable, stands up to the test of my toddlers and lots of foot traffic. Looks just as great as the day we opened it, adorable pattern. Nice and thick and stays put when anchored underneath the high chair. Can't say enough good things about this splat mat, such a great product.

This thing is magic. It hides a world of crumbs and splatter. I keep it under our high chair and wipe it every couple days. The busy (but darling) hedgehog pattern keeps the floor around the high chair looking clean, even when it's not. Super easy to wipe off and when we're through the high chair phase, I'm looking forward to using this for craft time too.

This is a great product not just for meal-time messes but also for playtime. My son has extremely sensitive skin and his elbows and knees need protection from both hardwood surfaces and area rugs in our home. This mat is perfect as a portable play mat and is also useful when his diaper area needs to be aired out!

Very very well constructed! It's a lil pricey but worth it. I can see using this for several different things!

Works great. We use this under our daughter's highchair. Perfect for little or big messes.
