Does exactly what is described. Works very well!

Bought 3 of these in early 2024. I think I am among the first buyers of this item. All 3 of them are still working as of July 2025. I tape the photosensor and put them on a schedule (via a smart plug) so that there is no chance for them to overheat during the hot Arizona summer days. These do provide good supplemental IR illumination for my security cameras.

Hung this outside near my chicken coop to illuminate the area for my IR cameras. Worked fantastic for about 2 weeks and was impressively bright. Until it rained....The power supply was too large to fit in any of my outdoor protective boxes, so I had to leave it exposed with an extension cord. Big mistake! The power supply must've shorted out and exploded, because I found half of it on the ground with scorch marks. Luckily nothing else burned.It's a great light if you have a large covered area or box to protect it from the elements. Switched to a different light with a standard plug, so I could seal it in a weather resistant case.

The light worked well for about eight months and then it just quit working.

Have tried several of these. This is as good as any, better than some. Good brightness. Relatively wide light spread. Had a warranty problem (failed due to water intrusion after 4 months and they ignored my request for a replacement ) with a comparable brand. So I've struck the other folk off my list and will be buying more of these.Over the years I've tried all sorts of weatherproof connectors and boxes for various outdoor video cameras and lights, IP65 through even IP68. Have not had good long term success with anything other than using disposable plastic water bottles, slitting the neck, and pushing everything up inside the plastic water bottle. You DO need to have the opening pointing down and make sure the weight of the cables doesn't pull everything out. It doesn't look at all professional. But it works for me. You may want to try that with your power connections if you use these outside. I used a plastic grape juice bottle for the exposed wall wart which is temporarily connected to an extension cord.

It’s..ok. Not nearly as bright as I thought it would be.

Referencing the picture. The top picture is the standard swan camera no IR illuminator. The second picture is with the smaller IR illuminator made by the same company. The bottom picture is with the IR illuminator that I'm writing this review. I'm sticking with the bigger one. It is a good distance away and I have it mounted vertically and it seems to work great. They actually was watching the camera and aiming the IR illuminator to get the illumination where I wanted it. Although it would probably be best to melt it horizontally because it appears that there is a intensity band as I'm aiming it. If it was mounted horizontally or had the ability to mount it in a way that I could have more adjustment to it I could probably get better illumination. But as it stands this is good enough. The dark area at the bottom is a creek bed.
