Wasn’t expecting much for the price
After the second time a $30 soldering iron burnt up on me I decided to get something from a different seller. I purchased this with really low expectations. However, for the price this performers just S well or better than my $60 and up soldering irons. I mainly keep this unit in a soeparate bag for outdoor repairs on pool equipment and solar panels. Well I found myself liking it so much I been using it everywhere now. The only question would be how long will it last but at the price I paid, I can buy three more in the future. This unit also comes with pretty good instructions as they tell you how to change it from C to F and give instruction on how to reset or program the heat ing element so you get exactly the temp on the screen. None of the $30-40 irons I have purchased off Amazon have had instruction on this. Most are only Celcius temp setting. I’ll buy again for sure. Also packaged better than most. Nice heavy cardboard box and a place for all the other included items.

Great multi-purpose soldering iron
This is a great soldering iron that I have used not just for soldering wires but for other projects as well. It coves with a variety of tips in different shapes and sizes, and that makes it easy to use this soldering iron to do things like trip lace and melt holes in corsets for grommets. It's a small size and heats up really quickly. The screen is easy to see and operate and it forms up small for portability.

Decent soldering iron, especially for the price.
This soldering iron performs quite well for the price. While it's not as nice as a similar name brand iron, this thing has no trouble getting the job done. Heats up decently fast and holds said heat decently well, making it great for appropriately sized tasks (it is only rated at 90w, so manage expectations). The controls work fine, but not as nice as a name brand competitor. There is no auto-progress when changing temp and you have the click the +/- for each and every adjustment (no holding down for quickly adjusting temp).Includes a decent selection of Hakko style tips that are pre-tinned. The included stand, solder and solder paste aren't anything special (no info on the "paste" and it has no smell so it's most likely not a Rosin flux), but I'd consider them freebies and acceptable for beginners. The silicone sleeve / iron cover is a welcome addition as it'll help protect the installed tip if you don't store the iron in the original box. This kit would be 5 stars if it included some type of carrying case, making it perfect to throw in the mobile tool bag/box for the occasional need in the field. The included box works well enough, but don't expect carboard to stand up to abuse.

Great soldering iron kit
Perfect soldering iron kit for doing repair projects around the house like fixing holiday lights that have come apart due to a bad connection or even new projects with the grandkids. I have even fixed jewelry with it. You never know when it will come in handy. Perfect to just have in your toolbox in the garage.

Good for small projects and emergencies
It is lightwieght and easy to manuver, but maybe a bit long for some projects with small space involved. The quality seems fine for general use in small projects. Adjusting temperature in small changes is fast, easy and convinient. Otherwise you have to constantly click on the buttons to change temperature (You cannot hold it down to increment or decrement)Holder and sponge are not the best, feeling flimsy or too small when handling the iron. The silicon cover is a life saver when working with a short amount of time available. The paste and tin are useful for small emergencies. The tips seem to withstand general use, but I do not see where I can get compatible repalcements for this solder iron. It looks like these tips may be a bit wider to fit into any other solder iron I own.

No Way This Iron Is 90 Watts!
I thought this may be decent soldering iron. The kit comes with every thing you need to get started. The iron has digital temp control and is rated at 90 watts. To test it out, I decided to used on one of my fpv drones that am building. I started with making a battery lead consisting of 12 gauge wire and an XT-60 connecter. I was using the chisel tip and set the iron to 400C. I tinned the tip and when to tin the wire. As soon as I touched the wire I saw the solder on the tip go cold. I cranked to the max of 500C but iron just wouldn't transfer the heat. I then went to tin some pads on a flight controller. The pads on there are tiny. I was able to successfully solder some 26 gauge wire to those. This iron is only capable the smallest of jobs. There is no way it's achieving it's stated power of 90 watts. I would not recommend this even to beginners. When you are just started to learn to solder, you need an iron that works well. It'd be a shame if a beginner got this and got frustrated and quit because they think they're not doing a good job just when it's the iron's fault. One thing I do like is the silicone sleeve that goes over the tip. I've never seen that before. It not only protects the tip when not in use it can be put on when the iron is still hot.I would say spend a little more and get a better iron. This one just doesn't cut it.

Works great.
I purchased this months ago to have in the electrical kit in our travel trailer while we travel around the U.S., but only recently had the opportunity to use it to repair the connection in my wife's back massager. It worked great. The tip heated quickly, and the small pin-point size fit into the small area I had to work with and worked great. I have a name-brand larger soldiering iron kit in my garage, but I would definitely select this for small quick work.

great budget set with a digital display
this solder set is pretty good, especially at this price. i really like the digital readout on it. i have another one that has a manual wheel adjustment and its so tiny i can barely read the temperature. the kit includes a small tube of okay solder, not the greatest but it works in a pinch. there's also a stand and solder paste? i don't know what the paste is, i use bottles of flux myself. the stand is good for beginners and the different tips are nice. the only thing missing is a carry bag and a desoldering braid or solder sucker.
